We mainly have reports of the same issue on macOS in bug 153696, but keeping
this separate for now.

Can you please test again, to see if the issue was related to a transient
network problem?

Dear Christopher M. Penalver,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

--- Comment #8 from QA Administrators  ---
Dear Nikos,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155142] New: FORMCONTROLS: Add form control to prevent scrolling in text boxes

2023-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155142

Bug ID: 155142
   Summary: FORMCONTROLS: Add form control to prevent scrolling in
text boxes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: st...@nyhof.id.au

Created attachment 187076
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=187076=edit
Screenshot showing the Adobe Acrobat 'Scroll long text' option

Most of the forms I use are ultimately designed for signing with locked fields
and the ability to print the final document with integrity.

The default behavior of both single- and multi-line text boxes is to allow them
to scroll once the end is reached. If the form user unwittingly enters too much
text, the final printed product will be incomplete as the scrolled text will
truncate. Therefore scrolling in text boxes must be disallowed for some forms.

This ability exists in Adobe Acrobat: text box properties, options tab, 'Scroll
long text' tickbox. This is ticked by default (screenshot attached). At the
moment I need to post-process each PDF form in Acrobat and untick this for all
text boxes.

I propose a new field in text box form controls, 'Allow scrolling' with 2
options 'Yes' / 'No'. It could be placed just beneath the 'Text type' option.
If no was selected then the exported PDF, when opened in Acrobat, would have
the 'Scroll long text' option unticked.

Thanks for your consideration.

I like the idea in general, but not really the implementation. So I don't know
whether I'll keep pushing for that.

> -ability to include page totals (i.e. page 1 of 3 as requested in comment 10)
Done with comment 46.

Another thing I considered was saving the last state. I thought perhaps I might
be able to get some of that "for free" because of calls like save_state and
get_state_changed_from_saved(). But those are just an alternative to
connect_changed handler links. cui/source/options/optgdlg.cxx is an example
where true saving is going on. So it wouldn't be terribly difficult, but I
don't think it is worth the complication. So I'm giving up on that enhancement.

I think I am done with the enhancements. There are some bookmark
duplication/renaming problems under the hood - especially noticed when running
the wizard on BOTH the header and the footer. So far I haven't been able to
properly grasp all of the complexities of this.

Thanks for finding the reproduceable steps. I'd seen the crash a number of
times during development, but hadn't narrowed down the specific sequence.

Interestingly, my favourite testing document in Comment 38 doesn't crash with

--- Comment #10 from Eike Rathke  ---
The reason is that for external references the sheet names and used cell data
are cached and stored in the target document, but not names nor what names
would resolve to (remember it could be cell ranges or any kind of formula
expressions that without the source document may not make sense at all).

This kind of deep loading happens only when the formula expression input is
resolved, not on reload or recalculation.

For simple named ranges (and defined database ranges) the external names and
their ranges would have to be additionally stored in the target document.

In the gallery, when you right-click on a gallery image, the mouse turns into
drag-and-drop mode as soon as you move the mouse.

For example, I right click to "insert as background image." on a button image I
found in the right-hand side gallery sidebar. When I move the mouse, the cursor
changes to a plus-hand. But it does with this everything - including a right
click and then choosing nothing, but clicking outside of the popup menu to
close it.

Basically, as soon as you right-click, you are in drag and drop mode.

This started in LO 7.0 with commit fa8c85fa90e9565a357b247a69f930098d11ff84

- after the header is created, Insert - Page Number (keep everything as it is)
- press OK
- Crash (I don't get a report to attach here)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127322] Gallery: Insert items as background does no longer work

2023-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127322

--- Comment #6 from Justin L  ---
sfx2/source/appl/appuno.cxx'a TransformParameters, for "Background.*" has
{nAID = 3, pName = 0x7fffbe5393a5 "Transparent"}
{nAID = 0, pName = 0x7fffbe5393b1 "BackColor"}
{nAID = 5, pName = 0x7fffbe5393bb "Filtername"}
{nAID = 1, pName = 0x7fffbe5393c6 "Position"}

and in galbrws2.cxx, we set
comphelper::makePropertyValue("Background.Transparent", sal_Int32( 0
)),
comphelper::makePropertyValue("Background.BackColor", sal_Int32( - 1
)),
comphelper::makePropertyValue("Background.URL", aURL),
comphelper::makePropertyValue("Background.Filtername", aFilterName),
comphelper::makePropertyValue("Background.Position",
...Location_TILED),

Inserting the Background.Position into subId 128+1 initializes the GetGraphic
too.

Well, that makes perfect sense then. Tomaz removed MID_GRAPHIC_URL which is the
missing subId to handle Background.URL.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100757] Linear solver says 'model is infeasible', when real problem is non-linearity

2023-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #11 from Jan Egil Kristiansen ---
Bug still here as of 7.4.6.2

As I get older and wiser, I think it may be unreasonable to expect a linear
solver to detect nonlinearity in the model.

Maybe the error message should just hint that nonlinearity might be the
problem?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154894] On app startup, Libreoffice paints the window BEFORE setting its maximization state

2023-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154894

--- Comment #3 from Jeff Fortin Tam ---
A note for testers who may have a problem reproducing this under Wayland
(especially if you're running a distro that patches mutter for
triple-buffering, like Ubuntu): today for some reason the issue didn't seem to
manifest itself at first, so I logged out of the GNOME Wayland session and
logged into the GNOME Xorg session, reproduced the issue there, logged out and
into the Wayland session again and... for some reason, the issue now started
occurring under Wayland again! At least for a while.

In any case, the issue seems to be much easier to trigger & observe under
Xorg/X11 than Wayland, so when testing a potential fix, it should be checked
there too (just to rule out the possibility of the Wayland session suddenly not
exhibiting the behavior, unrelated to the code)

that of course should read "and the way the citation/*reference* gets written
into  ODF."

For usage, see pg. 350, chpt. 15 of the 7.5 Writer guide [1]

No, while they are "Citation" in common use--functionally--they are always
drawn from our ODF [1] bibliography structures. The controlling dialog is the
'Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography...' and in reality contains both
within the UI.

We have bug 64960 bug 121945 and bug 121958 open to extend ODF by incorporating
support for "citation Style Language" (CSL) based indexing schemes.

Until then, current labeling in UI is consistent with our ODF heritage--and the
way that citation/index gets written into ODF. No compelling reason to change.

Just for the record, the command for Insert > Slide Number was switched by
Andreas Kainz in 6.2 from .uno:InsertSlideNumber to .uno:InsertSlideField with
c50e4badfcb701d9e3927dae6617bb0d33f386e0

But now we have a duplicate in the menu, given that it's also in Insert >
Fields > Slide Number.
