[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155713] New: Text position in Dimension line dialog does not work as expected
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155713 Bug ID: 155713 Summary: Text position in Dimension line dialog does not work as expected Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: dmatsch...@quietriding.com When I open the Dimension line dialog, AutoVertical and AutoHorizontal are selected. A dot appears in the center of the Text position box, but the sample view at the bottom of the dialog shows the text above the dimension line. I cannot select any of the other positions in the Text position box. If I deselect AutoVertical and AutoHorizontal, and click the top center dot in the Text position box, the center dot remains selected. However, in the sample view at the bottom of the dialog, the text has moved to the center of the dimension line. I cannot move this by clicking on any of the other dots in the Text position area. I’ll now click OK to close the dialog. If I now reopen the dialog, AutoVertical and AutoHorizontal are selected. The dot is in the center position in the Text position area. The text is in the center of the dimension line in the sample view at the bottom of the dialog. I can now click on the various dots in the Text position box and the text moves as expected. The question is: Why does it not behave this way in the first place? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125876] More centralized endnote/footnote settings
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125876 --- Comment #14 from Eyal Rozenberg --- I agree with Telesto's description of the problem, but not with all of his concrete suggestion. About Telesto's three points: * I don't see how you can integrate an insertion dialog with a settings dialog. * Agreed, that's my point (3.) below, but see also my point (4.) about the same for endnotes. * I suggest the opposite direction. You see, the whole-document settings should not direct you to single-page-style-specific settings, but the other direction does make sense. Here's what I think I would do: 1. Make Footnote numbering page-style-specific: Bug 155712. That would naturally move the numbering setting from the document-level Tools-menu dialog to the Page Style dialog's Footnotes tab. 2. (Maybe) Rename the "Insert | Footnote and Endnote | Footnote or Endnote" dialog an "Out-of-order Note" or a "Special Note", and only allow choosing the single character (or string) to use as the reference, without allowing autonumbering. 3. (Maybe) have an entry for "Insert | Footnote and Endnote" to open up the current Page Style's dialog at the Footnotes tab. 4. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155712] New: Footnote numbering should be page-style-specific
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155712 Bug ID: 155712 Summary: Footnote numbering should be page-style-specific Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com Footnote autonumbering might need to have different styles in different parts of the document. For example: Latin numerals on LTR/Latin-text pages, Hebrew or Arabic numbers on RTL page with Hebrew/Arabic content. Or perhaps pages in thematically different areas of the document, with one of them befitting a star, dagger, section etc. and another befitting numbers. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153623] [Character styles] Make more clear that the font used is from the paragraph style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153623 --- Comment #15 from Eyal Rozenberg --- (In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #5) > Basically, this is a part of bug 88559. I'm not sure it's the same bug. One issue is _which_ font is displayed for Emphasis in OP's scenario, and another question is whether the inheritance is clearly indicated in the UI for choosing the CS font. While OP's complaint focuses on the lack of indication - which indeed seems covered bug bug 898559 - he also tells us the font chooser shows Liberation Serif - which is not what the Emphasis CS inherits from the Default PS. > Note that Liberation Serif is the hardcoded *default* for a new document, > and can de changed (with the awful, not intuitive, and actually misleading > UI) - see bug 152537. That bug asks for too little. The fonts used for previewing a CS should be the Default PS' fonts. > We definitely need to use *some* font for preview. > ... > It is *not* the same as Paragraph's Default style's > font, but the UI in the Options dialog affects them both. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155326] Calc with gtk3 VCL is unusable with large spreadsheets: huge lag, high CPU usage, etc.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155326 --- Comment #14 from itagure --- Hallo, I was able to reproduce the observed behavior with a worksheet of 100 columns and 5 rows (only static numbers). When scrolling down with "page down" from the first row, there is a lag of about 1 second between the point in time when you stop pressing "page down" and the moment the scrolling actually stops. The lag is smaller if formula bar is not visible, however is still noticeable. The lag is noticeably smaller if you try to scroll down from a cell that is near the bottom of the 50k rows or if you want to scroll up starting from a cell near the top of the worksheet (let's say about 5k rows or less in either direction). Therefore it seems that the lag is related to the number of rows "remaining" in the direction of scrolling. Scrolling works without noticeable lags when using the scroll-bar. my setup is: Version: 7.5.3.2 (X86_64) Build ID: 50(Build:2) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Monitor: 2560x1440 (100% scale) Fedora 38 Intel Integrated Graphics -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137822] LAYOUT DOCX: Text boxes with parallel wrap have inline tables slip underneath them (bad), while optimal wrap does not (workaround)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137822 Justin L changed: What|Removed |Added Summary|Text boxes on docx do not |LAYOUT DOCX: Text boxes |have correct wrapping |with parallel wrap have |configuration on|inline tables slip |LibreOffice |underneath them (bad), ||while optimal wrap does not ||(workaround) Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE See Also|https://bugs.documentfounda | |tion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76 | |022 | --- Comment #14 from Justin L --- The wrap on the textboxes themselves is fine, and always seems to have been. I tested 5.2 and already then they were parallel wrap (called page wrap previously). In MSO 2010, they are "square" "both sides" - i.e. parallel no contour. There are special rules for optimal wrap and these do affect tables, so that is why OP's workaround is effective, even if it isn't accurate. Something similar is seen with regular text wrapping on both side in very little space with parallel, and no wrapping whatsoever with optimal wrap. Since there is a minimal example in this report that doesn't show this, I created a separate bug report for that - bug 155711. So far my contributions to this bug have been terrible. Hopefully I've covered my bases this time... I'm focusing on original_file.docx (minimized) from comment 5. These are not floating tables, so the work done in 7.6 for that is irrelevant here. Since the minimized document focuses on tables slipping underneath wrapping flies, I'll again mark this as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 76022 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155711] New: LAYOUT DOCX: Parallel wrap occurs in tiny space in LO, but not in MSO
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155711 Bug ID: 155711 Summary: LAYOUT DOCX: Parallel wrap occurs in tiny space in LO, but not in MSO Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Keywords: filter:docx, notBibisectable Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jl...@mail.com CC: jl...@mail.com Blocks: 120466 Created attachment 187757 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=187757=edit parallelWrap.docx: minimal example with parallel wrapping gone awry. The problem is that text is being wrapped on both sides of an image in LO, when MSO considers there not to be enough space, and so all the text ought to be below the image. This is a spin-off from bug 137822's original_file.docx attachment 166802. There are plenty of reports about wrapping being different between LO and MSO, but I don't recall seeing one specifically calling out parallel wrap as being problematic. It seems like LO crams in as much as it can for parallel wrap and doesn't do any sizing whatsoever. Steps to reproduce: -open parallel_wrap.docx Notice that the numbering is on the left, and the rest of the paragraph wraps on the right in LO. This appears to happen in earliest times. Not bibisectable with this document because CENTER orientation wasn't working until LO 3.5 - at which point the wrapping was already bad. Very interesting note: in MSO 2010, if I change the horizontal from center to left, then the 1. is shown and the text "wrapping" is lost underneath the image. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101625] continue fulfilling input fields
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101625 Edmund Laugasson changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED --- Comment #4 from Edmund Laugasson --- Sorry but just closing with future ideas does not solve the issue. That's a pity, that this issue is so long time unsolved but hopefully something is happening now and we will get a solution. Currently (also tested with current latest LibreOffice Writer 7.5.3) I can just add fields but later don't see the list of added fields and cannot edit (fix) them. Under right-click menu I can choose to edit field but only partially can change it. To fully fix already inserted field I have to completely re-enter everything and then correctly. This makes a lot of hassle and isn't the way we expect it should work. We would expect fully editable list of inserted fields and we want to fully change them whenever necessary. I can manually double-click on certain filed to fulfill or change already filled content but current bug report is more targeted to find a solution, where we can continue, where we left off. This means, Writer should detect, which fields have already data inserted and which not and then continue, where it left off. Also when checking fields by activating them via SHIFT+CTRL+F9, there would be good to have ability to delete certain field if I decide it is not necessary, sometimes there are some fields really not necessary, e.g. accidentally inserted (empty), etc. In text I don't even see that field but invoking field reviewing via SHIFT+CTRL+F9 to fulfill fields I see that field - now I don't have a way to delete it as I don't even see it in document. A delete button would be helpful; also a button that allows to replace field with regular text. Sometimes I decide that we don't need field anymore but want same text as currently seen in field, inserted directly as text, without field. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
