[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154525] [sample] Calc is extremely slow (3+ minutes) to open Lenovo's Accessories "Options Compatibility Matrix" spreadsheet

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154525

most likely calcs old funbrakes:
'comments / notes / post-it's / captions / annotations or tracking notes'
and conditional formatting.
Not comments in the bug report, but 'comments', 'notes', in the file.
A funbrake in LO Calc since years, and this document has lots! of them.
Find similar reports: search for 'comment' 'slow' in bugs, trail down the 'See
Also's
 too.
( there are old reports marked 'fixed', _assume_ 'not' )
Check the amount: F5 ( navigator ), there 'comments'.
verify the impact: remove comments and reopen file.
( here > 2 min. -> ~ 1 min. )
_assume_: ineffective iterations / nested looping / somewhere.
( 'quadratic' or 'exponential' 'explosion', other possible
sources and influences see in old reports )
remove conditional formattings, save and re-load.
( here ~ 1 min. -> < 40 sec. )
Tested with 7.4.5.1 under Linux.
While bugs are pushed around for years instead of solving
the problems will be reported again and again.

In this case, don't you think it's strange that the next page is displayed even

Dear Telesto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156573] New: HID with "?" exists in the Help file but is not resolved correctly when F1 is pressed

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156573

Bug ID: 156573
Summary: HID with "?" exists in the Help file but is not
resolved correctly when F1 is pressed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com
CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

When a help page for a HID that contains the "?" character is opened, it is not
resolved correctly in "index.html" (the help's main page).

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open any LO app with the "gen" or "win" backend (if you have the very latest
master, it will also work with "kf5")
2) Go to Tools - Macros - Organize Macros - Python
3) Hover over "Python"
4) Press F1 to open the help page

Result:
The help will try to open the page corresponding to the HID
".uno:ScriptOrganizer?ScriptOrganizer.Language:string=Python"

Note that the page should open, because this HID is properly set in:
/help/source/text/shared/01/06130200.xhp

However, inside the compiled help in the file "hid2file.js", the HID is set
differently: ".uno:ScriptOrganizer%3FScriptOrganizer.Language:string=Python"

Note that "?" is replaced by "%3F" when "hid2file.js" is built.

There is a rule in "/help/help3xsl/generate_hid2file.xsl" that explicitly makes
that change.

So what's missing is to replace "?" by "%3F" when the HID is called in the
index.html main page.

For me this problem is solved, I use the com.sun.star.embed.XStorage interface
differently[1].

I cannot explain the origin of this bug since my extensions worked under
OpenOffice and LibreOffice until 7.5.x.

Nothing justifies my having to change the code of my extensions for versions
7.6.x and above, but I'm going to be satisfied with that, you mustn't always
want to understand everything...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156572] New: tbillyield() calculation returns incorrect yields for some dates

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156572

Bug ID: 156572
Summary: tbillyield() calculation returns incorrect yields for
some dates
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fwom...@gmail.com

Created attachment 188708
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=188708=edit
tbillyield() does not match Excel formula and generates inconsistent numbers

tbillyield() returns inconsistent sometimes incorrect yield values depending on
the dates used, even though the number of days are the same.
For example:
settle  maturedays  price   tbillyield()computed
01/17/2302/28/2342 99.384 5.3127% 5.3127%
01/24/2303/07/2342 99.384 5.0712% 5.3127%
01/31/2303/14/2342 99.384 4.9585% 5.3127%
The computed column uses the microsoft formula for tbillyield() is describe in
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/tbillyield-function-6d381232-f4b0-4cd5-8e97-45b9c03468ba
tbillyield should produce the same value if the number of days and price
are the same.
Loading the same exact *.ods file into Excel produces correct values for
tbillyeild() that matches the same computed values.
So, LibreOffice is computing tbillyield() incorrectly.
I hope other's aren't relying on this financial formula for their decisions.

Do you plan to fix this in gtk3 as well? If not, we could CC someone else.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156571] New: Perculiar addition error resulting in erronious additional decimal (specifically x.xx99999999999)

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156571

Bug ID: 156571
Summary: Perculiar addition error resulting in erronious
additional decimal (specifically x.xx999)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: xyh...@hotmail.com

Description:
A simple table of bank transactions extracted from CSV data (i.e. no formulae,
or other hidden data - simply alphanumeric fields) was being used, and values
checked by a simple sum ([J90]=J89+E90) comparing against the precomputed
values in the table.

At row 158 the sum becomes an extended decimal value, whereas prior to this row
the numbers are correctly confined to 2 decimal places. However, the sum
displayed at the bottom of the spreadsheet window shows erronious valuse with
recurring decimal digits earlier in the table at row 128.

The data has been checked thoroughly and all values within the CSV are only 2
decimal places.

The addition error occurs in the inner workings of LibreOffice Calc somewhere.
The table and the imported data are 100% correct. The cell calculation formula
appears to be simple, but there is evidently something else going on, other
than simple addition.

The error shows in the table as -9.0955021292416E-14 at line 158, however the
sum appears to acquire the error earlier in the sequence at line 128, where the
value is XX.XX999.

A small experiment setting the displayed digits in cell format causes the error
to disappear (irrispective of the number of decimal places selected) -
reverting the cell format to general causes the error to reappear.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open CSV
2. create sum in column at edge of data (column J)
3. find row with value with more than 2 decimal places.

Actual Results:
Rows after 128 can be seen to have recurring or additional decimal digits.

Expected Results:
all values computed should match the 2 decimal place values otherwise present
in the original data.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Data on the table cannot be shared due to data protection concerns. However,
the data is not special in any way - comprises of just text and numbers.

Example file from Word 2016

Example file with two plain text control. This bug is about the "Allow carriage
returns (multiple paragraphs)" property in the Plain text content controls
settings dialog.

First has the default value, disabled. In Word, you cannot press Enter inside
this and type text into a new line.
Second has it enabled, you can press Enter inside this and start typing into a
new line.

Writer does not have this property in the content controls settings dialog, so
both controls allow using the line breaks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 153032] Writer crashes after few hours of editing large DOCX file with some compatibility options on

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153032

Update: it looks like the default options in the debug build are different. By
default these are selected:

"Add paragraph and table spacing at tops of pages"
"Add paragraph and table spacing at bottom of table cells"
"Consider wrapping style when positioning objects"
"Word-compatible trailing blanks"
"Hide paragraphs of database fields (e.g., mail merge) with an empty value"

I will try to isolate the faulty option.

As to the debug build, I'm not sure I will achieve anything, because it works
so slow that it's impossible to use it properly (saving file takes one hour).

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156567

Bug ID: 156567
Summary: UI: Sidebar plain text warning appears in one line
with GTK3 backend
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com
Blocks: 154929

Created attachment 188699
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=188699=edit
Example file from Writer

This is similar to bug 156137
Attached example file has a single long hyperlink and the accessibility sidebar
gives a long plain text warning "Hyperlink text is the same as the link address
“https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154929”.;
This is broken into multiple lines in the sidebar when the attached file is
opened, but if the sidebar is resized, this becomes a single line, using up a
large part of the window area for the sidebar.

1. Open attached file
2. Open the accessibility sidebar
3. Resize the sidebar
-> full warning text is visible in one line, sidebar takes up large part of the
window area.
This is happening only with GTK3 backend, gen and QT5 make the end of the
warning text disappear under the sidebar deck chooser buttons.

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d0c12b155009599cc31f8eac353bb679db0afbec
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU.UTF-8); UI: hu-HU
Calc: threaded

Latin alphabetical autofill was not present in OOo 3.3, so marking as inherited
and enhancement.

(In reply to BogdanB from comment #16)
> Maybe a list of Latin letters to be added as the defualt Lists?

I think that's a nice and easy solution, having both lowercase and uppercase
lists by default.
If someone doesn't like it, we can offer two solutions:
- just like for numbers, use the Ctrl key so it doesn't increment
- delete the sort list in the options

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156566] New: XHTML-Export: Content of Document will be duplicated with Image on first page anchored to Page

2023-08-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 156566
Summary: XHTML-Export: Content of Document will be duplicated
with Image on first page anchored to Page
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: filters and storage

Created attachment 188698

Testdocument: Export to XHTML. Scroll down in exported document to see
duplicated content.

Open the attached document.
Export by File → Export → XHTML.
Have a look at the exported document.
Scroll down the document.
Header "Base Handbuch" will appear twice, also the whole content of the
document. Only the image on the first page (position wrong …) will appear only
one time.

Now set image anchor to paragraph: Properties → Image → Position an Size →
Anchor → To Paragraph
and set the position to center in top of the text area.

Export the file again and the content will appear only once.

There are many more bugs in this document. But a duplicate of the whole content
is main bug for me.

Tested with LO 7.4.7.2, appears also on LO 7.1.5.2 (which is the last usable
version, because all versions since LO 7.2 ignore decimal places, write '0'
instead of '0,64' and so it couldn't be set back to '0.64' - same with '1,27')

Tested with OpenSUSE 15.4 64bit rpm Linux.

Please ignore this. I found my fix only delays the inevitable crash so I
reverted my commit.

Ultimately, the problem is that the reportdesign code keeps reusing SdrHdl
pointers like they live forever while the SdHdlList treats them as disposable
objects.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to rewrite this particular code to not reuse
SdrHdl pointers.
