[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156883] The background color of text with trailing spaces is no longer drawn correctly.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156883 Adrian Thewlis changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #8 from Adrian Thewlis --- Great questions! 1. It is not deleted, but no longer displayed. 2. I am not familiar with "safe mode". 3. Doesn't happen with a new document! Copy-pasted a chunk of the problem document into a new document, and the problem did not show. Loaded a backed-up version of the document from about 10 days ago, and it didn't display the problem. Since the document is a work-diary, all changes are additions, so I copied all new text from the problem document onto the end of the old copy with no problem, and it still has no problem. So I am back to a full document without the issue. So some sort of document-global setting (not application or profile) was altering the way the hiliting was being rendered across the whole document. Whether the setting change/corruption occured when I upgraded, or if it was some accidental key sequence that switched it, I don't know. Either way, thanks for the questions, that got me on the path back to a happy document! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Additionally, the current subject title of the report reads (in part): " csv file import confused between decimal and thousands separator " which, together with the complete description in comment 0, is mixing field separator, decimal separator and thousand separator. It is a complicated issue and there is no way to get it right for all fonts. MS one set of line metrics and LibreOffice chooses another, unfortunately no matter how we change this, some font will break, so we have settled on a heuristic and we are not touching it again. If the default settings are not satisfactory, I suggest manually setting line spacing and not depend on the font’s default. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149611] Allow the page to adhere to the theme of the system.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149611 thesmall...@protonmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Whiteboard||Bug affects KDE plasma, not ||reproducable on GNOME. Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW --- Comment #10 from thesmall...@protonmail.com --- (In reply to third="Beedell", first="Roke" from comment #9) > Can you confirm that the behaviour is actually different to the version I > quoted? I can't easily test anything newer than what I'm using currently. If > the listed version is indeed as I describe, and the newer version as you > describe, set this as resolved. Better defaults would be a separate issue. Okay, so (on GNOME): LO versions 7.3.4.2 and 7.4.7.2: If I turn on dark theme in my OS, nothing in LO changes. UI stays like it does in light mode, page doesn't change. However, if I go to tools > options > application colors and choose "Libreoffice Dark" in "Scheme", then the page changes to black (and black text is displayed white). UI doesn't change, no matter what I do. In LO version 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ it works as intended (after changing the setting as described). LO will apply the appropriate theme (ui and page) and you don't have to change anything yourself once you changed that setting I described in comment #8. So yes: I can confirm that the behavior is different than on your system. However, I also downloaded KDE Plasma (5.27.5 under wayland) with debian 12, since you mentioned you use it: LO version 7.3.4.2: If your plasma is set to dark (settings > appearance > global theme > breeze dark) LO ui changes to black as well as the page. Works exactly as intended. LO version 7.4.7.2: Page goes black, ui stays like it would in light mode. LO version 24.2.0.0.alpha0+: UI changes accordingly, page *only* if manually set to dark, else it stays white. However, ui changes according to the system if I turn on / off dark mode. (tested with KDE plasma in X11 and same happens) I noticed warnings in the terminal if I execute LO 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (with KDE) regarding VCL. Seems like it fails to load icons and images but I don't know how that's related to the page display. I also set SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen and opened LO 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ with the terminal again. Now neither the page nor the ui change to dark mode (SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk is the default). I'll change the status to NEW, since it seems to be an KDE plasma related bug. Also, it's NOT RESLOVED for KDE plasma. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156954] New: implement robust data recovery for lost work (autosave on interval, etc.)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156954 Bug ID: 156954 Summary: implement robust data recovery for lost work (autosave on interval, etc.) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: framework Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: libreoff...@caseyconnor.org I have "save autorecovery info" set to 2 minutes, and "always create backup copy", and File-Versions->"Always save a new version on closing" enabled, but it is still too easy to lose work by accidentally deleting sections and not noticing, or by accidentally clicking "don't save" in the dialog that appears when you close a document, especially when you have multiple documents open, especially if your window manager places Save/Don't Save dialogs in the wrong place, etc. It seems like File->Versions->"Always save a new version on closing" does not save a version when closing if the user does not decide to save changes at the closing dialog. (I filed bug #156953 for that). If that bug is fixed (or I am mistaken), it would help a lot with this. Another potential option would be something like "[x] keep autorecovery information on document close even if crash doesn't happen" and to allow autorecovery to be manually instigated at any time (as long as you do it before the next autorecovery save happens, I suppose) But it would be nice to have more robust mechanisms for recovering older versions of files, lost data, etc. Specifically, an "autosave" function... here's the deluxe dream version for me: [x] automatically save backup copies every X minutes [ ] save backups in same directory as original [ ] prune backup copies in original directory to [ ] maximum age of __ days/hours/minutes [ ] minimum number of backup files to keep: _ [ ] maximum number of files: [ ] maximum total disk usage of backups of a given file (minimum one backup): _ [x] use this centralized directory for all autosave copies: [x] prune backup copies in centralized directory to [x] maximum age of __ days/hours/minutes [x] minimum number of backup files to keep: _3___ [ ] maximum number of files: [ ] maximum total disk usage of backups directory (minimum one backup): _ [x] also save a backup copy when manually saving [x] save a backup copy on exit, whether or not changes are saved on exit [x] attempt to save a backup copy when program crashes ...this is distinct from autorecovery as these copies are accessible whether or not the program crashes, they persist (according to settings), and they are always available. This could also incorporate the timestamp and file metadata ideas in bug #154109. I know there are million things to consider about it (filename collisions, UX details to work out, etc.) It just feels frustrating that in this day and age we should still be able to so easily lose data, especially when editing a little 10k text file. Thanks for considering! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156947 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from Regina Henschel --- LibreOffice provides two rectangles with essential differences. (1) The "legacy" rectangle. In Writer and Calc you need to customize a toolbar to get it. Search for 'Rectangle' in the customize dialog. In Impress and Draw you can use menu View > Toolbars > Legacy Rectangles. This rectangle has a point edit mode and you can drag the handle. And for this kind of rectangle you can enter the corner radius numerically in the upper part in last tab of the Position and Size dialog. (2) The "Rectangle" from the Basic Shapes category of the custom shapes. That has no rounded corners at all. You can use the "Rounded Rectangle" at same place. It has a handle to set the corner radius. And you can set the position of the handle numerically in the lower part in last tab of the Position and Size dialog. The value is the distance from the left edge of the shape. So when pressing "Points" does not work, you have likely used the "Rectangle" type (2). To distinguish one from another select the shape and look at the icon "Toggle Extrusion". If it is enabled, the rectangle is type (2) otherwise type (1). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156946] New: FILEOPEN - csv file import confused between decimal and thousands seperator
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156946 Bug ID: 156946 Summary: FILEOPEN - csv file import confused between decimal and thousands seperator Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.7.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: veeti.junkk...@gmail.com Created attachment 189171 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=189171=edit a simple file which replicates the issue when opening a csv file which uses a decimal seperator which happens to also be used as a thousands seperator, calc will assume it to be a thousands seperator first and a decimal seperator second. To replicate open the attached bug.csv with semicolon as the cell delimiter and English (USA) language. doing this will show the decimal sperator on all three cells containing it in the preview, but when you actually open the document cell B2 will be an integer while cells A2 and C2 will be decimal numbers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156945] New: Columns for text in shapes have wrong width
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156945 Bug ID: 156945 Summary: Columns for text in shapes have wrong width Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Created attachment 189170 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=189170=edit Two column text in shapes The attached file contains on the first slide a dummy text. This dummy text is used for all shapes on the second and third slide. The second slide has a legacy ellipse and a polygon. The third slide has a custom shape and a text box. When you open the file you might need to click in the text to get back the two column rendering. (That is a bug of its own.) The column width is written a relative width 32767* and 32768* (Section 19.514.3 in ODF 1.3). That means, "Column widths are specified as relative widths, that is, a number followed by a "*" (U+002A, ASTERISK) character. The space available for columns is distributed according to their relative widths." So the question is, what is "space available for columns"? It should be the area for text. That is the bounding box for ellipse, polygon and text-box and the area defined by the draw:text-areas attribute for a custom-shape. When you change the anchor of the text area (Text attributes dialog) to left and then to right you can notice the left and right edge of this area. Try with an older LO version (e.g. 7.0), which does not have the multi-column feature. As the ellipse, polygon and text-box are 10cm wide, the column width should be 5cm. The text area for the custom-shape depends on the handle. In any case it is symmetric to the shape, so the second column should start in the middle of the shape. Because ellipse and polygon have no word wrap, text overflow into the next column or out of shape is correct for them. The text-box has word wrap, as soon as "fit-to-width" is off, which is the case here. But still there is overlapping text. The custom-shape has currently word wrap off. But when you enable it, the start of the columns is still wrong. There is meta bug 142729. But because not only text-boxes have this problem, the meta bug does not really fit. I have made the tests with Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c9916d9be9c060d43fc063b76d70629162650fea CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
