Hello

Thank you very much for your patience and attention in helping me.
I understand that you have not found a solution to help me and following your
advice I will turn to Microsoft, my files are visible and editable without
corruption from Word
It's a shame to turn my back on the adventure I've had with Libre Office and
the admiration I have for such competent people who are open to others.
I'd like to thank you once again and wish you all the best for the future, but
I must make sure that I can continue my work without risk

Best Regards

I still don't understand this. Do you mean, you're trying each time to send an
email in private? Hope not since you're just have to comment here by using:

Ok so useless since it's the resulting file.

Ok so we can't reproduce the bug.

Ok this one was corrupted but openable, anyway this one is useless since it's
still not the original file.

Except buying MsOffice or finding someone who has MsOffice to save the original
file in docx (which is more recent) or even better in odt (the native file of
LO), I don't have idea too.
Uncc myself since I can't help here.

Reply - to your third e-mail

Good evening,

1 - To come back to you, the only thing to remember is that for any file, as
soon as the "save" function is executed, the file is damaged by Libre Office
Writer.
2 - The 19 MB file will be copyrighted and is therefore confidential.
3 - In my comments, I'd like to add that I've sent you another file that I
didn't save initially, and a copy that I re-read and saved with a corrupted
result - see Attachments "Reply 3 - to your e-mail". - 188591 -

I admit I don't know what to do, I've done a lot of research on my own, without
finding any solution. I've asked a PC repairman to find out if my system was at
fault, which apparently isn't the case.

Thank you for your patience, if you have any leads I'll take the time to test
all the possibilities you can come up with.

1) we need the ORIGINAL file which is 19MB sanitized if needed and the step by
step process to reproduce the pb.

2) the 76kb file you attached twice is corrupted, ok, nothing can't be done on
it, it's useless.

3) you attached a doc file (the reply 3) for a reason I ignore. So I just
converted it into odt to show you at least this one is ok

Is it more clear?

Reply - to your second e-mail

Hello,
I don't understand what you're doing: the 76 Kb file (despite being duplicated
- my apologies) is the result of saving the correct file, i.e. post-saving
corruption.
For the moment, I have no clue as to how to understand or solve my problem
Libre Office destroys my original files as soon as I save them in Word 97-2003
format, reducing their size from several MB to a few KB, and does not accept
that I use Libre Office's own ODT format.
The files and screenshots I've sent you are in response to your request.
This is a new situation ... I've been using your application for several years
now.
I've just tried it out on an old computer running Windows 7 and Word 97-2003,
and the files are visible, editable and can be saved without fail.
My problem remains unsolved !
Can you please help me - thanks in advance

DM - 803 - Sceance2 with odt format (

Here's the DM - 803 - Sceance2.doc converted into odt format with LO 7.4.7.2 on
pc Debian x86-64.
I could reopen the odt file but I must recognize I didn't compare both versions
to see if they were identical.

First and second attachements ("Reply 1" and "Reply 2" are identical, it's a
76kb doc file which seems corrupted).

About the 19MB file, you can follow this link:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Attachments.

Hello Julien Nabet,

First and foremost, many thanks for your reply.

I'm grateful for your attention to my request for help, and I'm sending you
some files and screenshots.

I would like to add that following this problem I have just realized that the
xls files saved in the calc application have the same problem.

Thank you also for alerting me to the confidentiality of the documents I'm
sending you, and the file sent concerns an accounting training course which can
be read by anyone

Best regards - Thanks again in advance

Without the original 19MB file, it's difficult to help.

If there's something confidential and/or private in it, you can try to sanitize
it (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Sanitizing_Files_Before_Submission)
but it would require Microsoft Word since LO generates a corrupted file.
