No specific commit identified in resolving this. But with
Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: 97471ab4eb4db4c487195658631696bb3238656c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group threaded

None of the STR reproduce. Seems WFM.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

This seems to have begun at the below commit.
Adding Cc: to Aybuke Ozdemir; Could you possibly take a look at this one?
Thanks

 Steps in comment 5:
1. open to Start Center
2. press and release Alt, then Down, then Right, then Enter. (this will lead to
the same menu item as Alt+F, N, T)
Fails only on the launch case from the Start Center on initial launch.

Confirmed, with 5.2.2.2 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US (
8f96e87c890bf8fa77463cd4b640a2312823f3ad) but only on the launch case from the
Start Center on initial launch, the more annoying launch of a subsequent New
document from within an open document no longer has the glitch--cursor focus is
into the canvas.

The +N shortcuts have been disrupted by work on the accelerator
toggle for GTK3.

But, you can see this issue with the .uno:AddDirect if as the OP reported, you
launch Writer from StartCenter on its initial launch--then open a second Writer
instance with the +N shortcut (or the File -> New -> Document menu).

My curious observations after opening Start Center:

-I can't reproduce the issue by repeating Stuart's steps from Comment 3 (Alt+F,

-if I do nothing else, but press Ctrl+N right after launch, nothing happens, I
have to Alt+Tab out and back, or click in the window, and then Ctrl+N opens new

So, chasing this down a bit further and the common element between the cases
seems to be behavior of the .uno:AddDirect SID_NEWDOCDIRECT action of the
N_MOD1 shortcut or the assigned menu action.

This seems to only affect Windows. The "+N" (N_MOD1) shortcut, or File ->
New -> Text Document menu, which using the .uno:AddDirect action opens a new
document, a Writer document from the Start Center (StartModule), or as reported
by OP when opening a new document from Writer.

Both use the same .uno:AddDirect, and in both cases as the new document is
opened, it does not receive edit cursor focus onto the document canvas.

Looks like it could be the work on SFX2--appopen.cxx or viewfrm2.cxx?
