Without answer from the reporter, I guess my diagnostic in comment #4 is still

Your screenshot does not show the print layout but the editing window.
Try to use the single page view: in the status bar just left of the zoom
slider, choose the first left icon instead of the second.

Something wrt. the print preview was changed last year, or so. Don't remember
exactly. The recent (fresh) version 5.2 centers the single page preview you
expect.
