[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104244] EDITING: current cell not indicated in Calc (Ubuntu)

2017-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104244

I confirm that this mark selection bug does not show up on a system started
from a live stick with Xubuntu 17.04 amd64. The version of LibreOffice included
in this distribution is LibreOffice 5.3.1.2.

However, Xubuntu 17.04 is not a LTS version and a LTS version should not
contain such a bug of one of the most used programs included in it.

Can confirm on Kubuntu 16.10 64-bit with LO 5.3.2.2 from the official Ubuntu
repositories with libreoffice-kde installed and active. Platform is a Dell
Latitude E6410 with Intel i915 graphics/chipset. xserver-xorg-video-intel is
installed, and I already tried purging and reinstalling it with no effect.

On enabling OpenGL, LO crashes at the splash screen. On disabling, it works
fine, but the active cell is not marked in any way. Only when I select two or
more cells, they become highlighted in a blue color and with a blue border
around them.

I am encountering the same problem as rastakvajanasta in trying to carry out
the install of
 sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

This is on a fresh install (not upgrade) of Ubuntu 16.04 on an Acer 1400 with
the
Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset.

I have NOT tried to install libreoffice-gtk3 which was suggested in the
ubuntuforums.org General Help board. I hope someone at least can identify the
cause of the problem and preferably recommend a workaround. Pretty hard doing
a significant amount of data entry with no borders around the current cell!!

Relax. Biz as usual not here no more. Real problems real attitude. Else there
are plenty out there called normals. But don't get this post wrong. Apologies,
that was my two cents, thought it might help a free soul. Stay bright, abiding.
Bugs will go!

I have the same problem. Active cell is not bordered. Reinstalling driver (sudo
apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel) did not help. Enabling OpenGl helped
to highlitght the active cell, but destroyed other things...

One more thing - when reinstalling driver, I got this:

jd@jd-OptiPlex-780:~$ sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 xserver-xorg-video-intel : Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.17.99.902)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Any help? I am a newbie and no expert and this my first report ever, so I am
sorry if my post is not in a manner it should be...
