I had a different problem with an update of Libre Office (incredibly slow, jumpy scrolling of large calc files) and so had to revert back to an earlier version to restore normal functioning - currently running 5.2.7.2 with no problems and have not updated the NVIDIA driver again to check if the empty cell problem recurs. At the moment I have 5.2.5.1 which is working fine but I have not tried re-updating the driver.
