This bug has been in NEEDINFO status with no change for at least
6 months. Please provide the requested information as soon as
possible and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Due to regular bug

YY-MM-DD HH:MM *is* the default date+time format in the hu-HU locale.
Check with entering =NOW() in a General/Standard formatted cell.

Why does Excel display it in a .mm.dd h:mm format?

Imported igy file in LO 6.2 and Excel 2013

Tested with current bibisect-win32-6.2 with en_US locale.
The date formats are still different.

Excel with hu_HU UI and hu_HU locale on Win 8.1: .mm.dd h:mm
Calc 6.1 with hu_HU UI and hu_HU locale: YY-MM-DD HH:MM
Calc 6.2 with en_US UI and hu_HU locale: YY-MM-DD HH:MM 

Would it be possible to make this use at least some locale-dependent default? 
I understand that Excel is doing some educated guesswork, perhaps we could do
something similar?

Could you please try to reproduce it with a master build from
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ ?
You can install it alongside the standard version.
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the master build

There is *no* formatting in the SharePoint List XML. So I am not sure we should
try to mimic the representation of plain date decided by Excel.

Or is there a specification somewhere maybe?
