Dear Vera Blagoveschenskaya,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

My comment 8 is to remove the checkboxes from the menu.

I think this is the expected behaviour. Same behaviour in writer if you show
the image toolbar, clicking on another element different than an image the
toolbar will go away...

My take is to remove the checkboxes. It's more consistent with other modules
when toolbars show up depending on the context rather than a user setting. It
makes no sense to show query options when you are in forms mode.

Switching between the modules within Base always only displays the
corresponding module toolbar, even if all have been selected under the
corresponding menu entry.

Either these are indeed only ever context sensitive, in which case, we
shouldn't allow the user to choose them all via the main Display menu, or else
they're not context sensitive when that option is activated, in which case all
toolbars should be visible.

@Heiko : one for some UX advice ?

Please see screen1 (toolbar after setting up all possible options) and screen2
(toolbar after changing object Table->Queries->Forms->Reports).

Expected result: I set up all possible options and want to see them always.

@Vera : I'm not sure I understand what I am supposed to be seeing:

Repeated Step 2 : OK, but this just sets a default minimalist greyed-out
toolbar for me with

Version: 6.1.2.1
Build ID: 65905a128db06ba48db947242809d14d3f9a93fe
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Mac OS X 10.13.6; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

If I switch between the four modes (Table/Query/Form/Report) the default greyed
out minimalist toolbar remains displayed, I can't even deactivate the entry in
Display - UI - Standard Toolbar.

So, I'm not sure that I'm reproducing what you are seeing ? Have I
misunderstood ?

I can confirm that in Base the toolbars are added and removed automatically as
you move between different sections of the UI. This has been a design of the
module since day one.

Personally I would like to see energy into creating newer style tabbed toolbars
that work with Base bits (tables, queries, forms, reports) and keep this automatic
management feature.
