There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. As noted, Linux hangs while Windows gives Err:512. But there might be another approach to this: not to paste at all in formula if clipboard format not appropriate. However it is context sensitive depending on cursor location when the paste is performed. If the paste is performed with the cursor in the input line at the top no excessive time is spent, matching the result in attachment 149606. However, if a cell is active with the cursor inside the time spent seems O(N²) or worse. Screenshot before pasting attachment 149652, and after pasting 300 numbers attachment 149653. A selection of 300 numbers hangs for 10+ seconds, and 500 hangs for 1+ minutes, 1000 hangs forever.
