That is not what I have proposed and it is quite different, because you get an OLE object. If the regular "open" does not work (why not?), an alternative is this: Set the slide size to the same width and height as used in the Draw-document. What would the use case be to save from Draw canvas to a different ODF archive format? Export to vector or raster formats is appropriate and well supported. But an ODF Drawing has limited applicability/support with our ODF Presentation editor 'Impress'--apples and oranges.
