The column width seems to be defined by the word "Standard" (as column type); longer options such as "Date (DMY)" is cut off. And if we modify the preview it should rather size the columns automatically depending on the context with a maximum as today. By the way, the Data Provider has more capabilities although it doesn't resize the columns as well. This one here is about the import-dialogue, where right-clicking a header does not give resizing options, in contrary to the description in bug 53026. But yes, instead of add resizability, an easyer fix could be setting a max-width, as suggested in bug 53026.
