I mark Lowest because in the end I don't see enhancement here, just an
unnecessary change that will affect eventual users.

We discussed the topic in the design meeting.

The option is pointless and confusing, has a negative impact on usability, and
makes false expectations to switch the full shortcut customization. Hiding as
far as possible from users is best (expert option). But if this involves more
effort than moving it to the General tab the alternative solution is an
improvement too.

Sounds also good, and even easier to do. But the point of Excel keybinding
shows how weird this option is. We have bug 123768 requesting this with the
idea to put it into templates.

Another idea to reduce the number of configuration tabs: move the Key Bindings
setting to the Defaults tab which has two settings and plenty of screen free
estate.

Also... I know you are bored with my obsession, but how about keeping this
setting and reinvigorate it by creating a new binding set called "MSO"?

For "rare" cases like my old bug 116788 and maybe a few similar others.

There might be some OOo users around who like this keybinding set, but the real
millions of potential users are on Excel, and learning new key combinations for
no better reason than "It's different here" is not helping them.

Cheers
Gabor

Yes, I have concerns.
Even if it may be that OOo is dead,
a) there are still users beating that dead horse, so if they wish to ride a
fresh one..
but more importantly,
b) there are current users of LO who prefer the compatibility behaviour, for
detailed differences see
