Click the mouse out of the document and back in and presto the cursor is back at the mouse. I have this occur after various edit functions (select and delete, style update) but it is not 100% reproducible. I also suspect there is some effect from having multiple writer docs open for edit at one time. Have just edited a Writer document and switched the styles of some text - and the cursor has been gone. Right mouse click for getting a context menu and the cursor is there again.
