The general rule is "save as close to the document model as possible. This means that adding stuff not present in model is a no-go. After such a save, there's no way to load it as before: manual line breaks would break the text flow in paragraphs. Even if this enhancement request were confirmed, it may be a long time before someone gets around to it. For more immediate results I recommend you use a decent text editor instead of a word processor for this case. For one example, UltraEdit already has this feature. However, putting them into a long paragraph or many paragraphs would be tedious. It would be nice if LibreOffice Writer had an option to put in these line breaks when the document is saved as text with line breaks.
