It's nice that you want to help but not here, because BZ would be overloaded with support requests for what was created ask.libreoffice.org. Roman, on your document, when I place the cursor at the end of a title 3 and press "enter", a new line is created. So far so good. However, if I place the cursor on this newline and attribute the style "title 3" to it, the numbering is inconsistent. It does not belong to level 3 but to level 1... Using only one of the two tools, the solution is not possible. Look at my example in attach. You should use in that case Chapter numbering for all outline level, just for Appendixes use level 4 and level 5 instead level 3.
