But what about my comment 1 (apply on style changes but not direct formatting)? At least there is a workable way to do it. Since people use the multiple mechanisms provided to do direct formatting, my suggestion would still be an improvement to the software. If you change the paragraph style directly (right click in the document) it is still direct formatting and affects only this particular paragraph. My take: WF.
