Does adjusting the zoom bar impact the frame of the OLE? Could be os/DE specific. But can not confirm on Windows builds, no issue inserting an OLE formula to Writer canvas. The zoom bar for OLE sm module shows at 100%, and the OLE frame autosizes and fits without scroll bars during the input session. Although we do still have the OLE frame behavior in Impress session similar to what is described in OP for Writer.
