The Linux operating system has undergone the usual updates in the meantime. I also checked the issue with the Windows 10 operating system and the version mentioned above for that. Of course Windows 10 also undergoes regular updates. The bug did not show up again there either. I also tried it with the mouse connected to all available USB ports on the computer and on the docking station. I also checked it with the other mouse (same model as mentioned before). The issue did not show up again. I mark this issue therefore as RESOLVED. Is FIXED the right other attribute for this issue? A partial word, or multi-word, selection with l-mouse click-n-drag holds its mark after release. Likewise mark is held with a full word with a 'double click'.
