In LibreOffice 4.3.0.2,
I can format the whole column/row with 'format paintbrush'.
Steps:
1. Active your 'format paintbrush';
2. Click the row label or column label;
3. Apply the 'format paintbrush' to your selection.
So, CLOSED as WORKSFORME.
