Great! Thanks for your feedback

Forgive my nitpicking but I'll mark it as RESOLVED WORKSFORME due the fact we
don't know which commit fixed the issue :-).

Kind regards,
Joren

This issue was fixed in 4.1.1 RC2. I've just re-tested in 4.2.5.2 and confirmed
there hasn't been a regression in that release series. Therefore, I'm closing
this as "resolved, fixed". (I assume original submitters are free to do that.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62271] Crash while working with headers, making use of the new feature to use different headers on a first page

This bug is related to Bug 66145. With fixes included in 4.1.1 RC2, everything
appears to be resolved. Certainly comments 4 and 6 are addressed, but I'm also
no longer able to crash or hang LibreOffice following the original steps to
reproduce, and the fundamental behaviour is different. Now instead I get a
first page that uses a different style ("title page", as expected), then a
second page that's treated as a "first page" as far as headers and footers are
concerned, and then subsequent pages that share headers and footers. I think
this can be closed.

This issue is still present with 4.1.0.2.0 (4.1 RC2).

Further to comment #4, I'm not sure if this added feature even works at all? It
doesn't seem to work intuitively. If I de-select "Same content on first page",
Writer still applies the same header to both the first and subsequent pages. I
still have to use page styles to actually get a different header on the first
page...

(In reply to comment #4)
The bug version of the bug is the oldest version of LibreOffice we can
reproduce this behavior. Therefore I mark this back to 4.0.1.2.

I can't make unique headers for the FIRST PAGE. Instead, first page headers
replace also the left page. Any time I try to fix it, it will replace all
headers on the right pages with either the first page headers or replace all
headers as the default (after first page). When I try to fix this, it simply
doesn't work OR crashes.

Nice catch! Thanks for reporting.

I can reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice Version
4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 905db14dbc029519e674147e6a5a6f76fb81309) (last
commit included in my build: Date: Tue Mar 19 10:23:35 2013 +0100)

I need to force quit LibreOffice

I mis-typed something, I meant to say "Or it *may* allow the user to activate
the header editing area on the first page, but it doesn't register clicks in
the header space, so it's not possible to edit it."
