This is not a bug.
This is the replacement field that the grammar checker fills with suggestions.

As the grammar checker wants to replace two spaces with one, the field is just
the character " ": an invisible space.

If you type: "a office", the suggestion will be "an office".

It works as expected.

So, if you want to modify the text with a label different than the replacement
text, this is an enhancement request.
