The main behaviour is not only caption it is more: caption of the frame of the objekt - and the presentation is different for frame, picture and table. My mistake was that first I thought the Bildbeschriftung=caption is a modifiable PROPERTY of the object - which was totally wrong - it is an additional (frame-)object-property. You can also access this command by right-clicking the item that you want to add the caption to. Sorry @Foss works for you in a different OS, but works for you or for me doesn't imply that the bug doesn't exist, sometimes a little change in the configuration is enough to make it reproducible, so set up it as RESOLVED WORKSFORME IMHO only hide the bug, but doesn't solve the user issue.
