Clean install 5.0.0.1. Create new document. Document appears. Enter one keystroke-document recovery window opens. Subsequent new document fails immediately without a keystroke. Problem does not occur in Calc or Impress nor did it occur in 5.0.0.0 beta 3.. The problem does not exist in Win 8.1x64. As it stands, Writer is unusable under Win 7x64, at least for me. Also - Please do not mark as a blocker - a single user seeing a crash is not a blocker - it's MAJOR. Thanks The problem was occurring with any document file. It was indeed a problem with the profile -- removing it and having it regenerated corrected the problem.
