You shouldn’t have to change your OS settings (I use Mac) to see your formula clearly. You can zoom in to the rest of the sheet — why not the formula? So, I don’t think the font size is “mighty small”. It is Segoe UI at 9 pt, the exact same configuration for the rest of the UI. You can workaround the problem by increasing the font size in Windows appearance settings in the mean time. I'm grateful the Formula Bar is stationary when expanded. It allows me to flip through many notes quickly (as I have done for years with Excel) but the small font size really slows me down.
