            Bug ID: 91215
Summary: LibO 4.4 - cropping tool regressions in draw/impress
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 4.4.2.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Draw
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com

Recent LibO has a cropping tool in the draw/impress components that shows some
issues and misses some features.

Specifically:

1) The graphical cropping tool lets one select and move handles to adjust a
rectangle around the part of the image that is to be kept, while all that is
external to the rectangle is cropped. Unfortunately, when pulling the handles,
the rectangle adjusts in a way that is inconsistent with the final result. For
instance, if you lower the top handle, instead of having just the top side of
the rectangle moving down, all the sides of the rectangle move (apparently
keeping the form factor). Then, when you release the handle you finally
discover that just the top side was adjusted.

2) Looks like it is not possible in any way to manually enter or check the
cropping values. Historically, LibO/OO had this ability, so we have a
regression. Incidentally, the ability to always inspect/adjust all the
numerical quantities affecting the drawing has so far been a precious feature
of LibO, setting above other commercial competitors.

This ability is important in some cases. For instance: assume that you need to
import two graphs and that they have to be cropped in identical ways on top,
otherwise you loose consistency. With the current LibO you need to edit them in
an external tool to be sure of the result. With previous versions of LibO you
could visually crop one graph and then numerically enter the same top crop info
in the second.
