I have examined the problem once again. It turned out that in LibreOffice 5.0
the window height can not be adjusted to less than 572 pixels. In LibreOffice
4.4 values under 565 pixels are possible!

>From https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements

Ubuntu Netbook Edition
since the release of ubuntu natty (11.04) the netbook version has been unified
and is now part of the ubuntu-desktop edition, this has been done via the unity
desktop software.

you may now use the standard ubuntu desktop CD image to install on net-books
with specifications such as:

Intel Atom processor @ 1.6 GHz
386 MiB of system memory (RAM)
4 GB of disk space
Screen of 1024x600 resolution
Graphics chipset with support for visual effects

This also applies to Kubuntu. Using Kubuntu you can switch between the netbook
GUI and the default desktop after installation.
The GUIs LO 4.4.5 and LO 5 don't differ recognizably to me. That is why
everything should work as perfectly as before with LO 5.

Good point re: resolutions. If we have bumped-up the min supported resolution,
we should update the System Requirements page as well.

It'd be great to have LibreOffice be useful on everything from Seymour Cray's
latest masterpiece down to a smart watch, but it's possible that some smaller
resolutions constrain the UI in ways that would negatively impact the
overwhelming bulk of LibreOffice users.

u.fuchs: Do you know the current constraints on min resolution for (k)ubuntu?
If they don't support it, then perhaps it's moot..

I think I am not the only user of a 10" netbook with screen resolution
1024x600. It would be regrettable if you could no longer use LibreOffice 5 and
higher on these devices, especially because LibreOffice still worked/works
perfectly up to version 4.4.5.

I don't think we support such a low resolution. The "System Requirements" page
says 1024x768 is the lowest supported, but actually we target now 1280x768 as
the minimum resolution.

Again tested with an other netbook (Toshiba NB100, Kubuntu 12.04, screen
resolution 1024x600). Same problem as originaly described! Window is too large.

I will try to inform about this bibisect tool, never used it.

I have tested the problem with a Notebook which has the same OS but screen
resolution 1280x800. The problem did NOT occur. It obviously has to do with the
low screen resolution of 1024x600.

Hi u.fuchs,
I'm guessing that you can't bump-up the resolution of the netbook any higher,
right?

I've seen something similar with system dialogs on a Dell Mini 10 netbook
running Ubuntu 12.04.

Hmm, very interesting. Have you every tried using our 'bibisect' tool? We've
got great coverage of the 4.4 and 5.0 commit ranges and could help show you how
to use bibisect to identify the commit that's causing this regression.
