I guess you're referring to simple hidden text that's not shown in 5.0 although it's on in Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - Formatting Aids. Well, no explanation, but it works again in 5.1 so "stay tuned" :) I close as WFM. They used to be visible as dotted underlined text but now are not visible at all.
