[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76014] New: Writer: Hyphenation dashes seem misplaced dependent on default printer on LO launch
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76014 Priority: medium Bug ID: 76014 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Writer: Hyphenation dashes seem misplaced dependent on default printer on LO launch Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: a07cd040897db54e1...@spambog.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.1.1 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 95578 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95578&action=edit A test document. We experienced the following issue on Windows Server 2003 x64 with printers connected from a W2k8 printserver. Also reproduced on WinXP. *Independent* of the default printer, the print preview (see attachment) shows partially large spaces between the last letter in a line and the hyphenation dash. If the document is printed, the dashes on the paper are placed *directly* following the last letter (this is what i would the printout expect to be). You might now think this is only a display error. But if the default printer on LO launch is a "HP DeskJet 920c" and in the print dialog "File -> Print" *ANOTHER* printer is selected, then the printout shows the same irregular large spaces between last letter and dash as the preview shows. If the "HP DeskJet 920c" is also uses for printing then the dashes are placed correctly. So the problem only occurs if the "HP DeskJet 920c" is default printer on LO launch and then another printer is used for printing. My guess is, that after selecting another printer some kind of re-rendering the dashes is missing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Problem description: I am saving *.docx files as html using Libre Office 4.2.1.1. Much to my surprise, I noticed that I'm getting horrifically invalid html, with interlaced tags. As an experiment, I copy&pasted some of the offending text into a Libre Office document, saved as ODT, and then saved again as HTML. The behavior appears to be the same. Here is an example of what I'm talking about under current behavior. Notice that the and tags are interlaced, something which should never happen and which makes the file impossible to parse, say using xslt. Steps to reproduce: 1. See attached Libre Office document 2. If set to true, everything works OK. Note that it works OK with your settings, too, but not in the way you expect it. This setting tells that you see all tab positions relative to left page margin, not to the cell that you work in. And the program does just this, thus working correctly with regards to developer's intent. The problem is how would you change this document setting without manual modifications of the document internals... I suppose that this bug at most can be qualified as an enhancement request to add a UI to allow this setting be modified. And possibly, others too. However, I keep the "medium" priority, because it is not a low-priority problem: without such a control, this would be a problem for people having different documents behaving differently, without a way to make them work consistently. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Problem description: I'm sorry if this is a duplicate or even not a real bug or worse, already fixed. If I have a document, *ANY* document in writer (all I've tried so far) and ask to print it I'm given a dialog which gives me the option of updating four fields, Title, Author (the important one) and Subject & Keywords. (Also security options.) However, if I use the "Export as PDF" option, those fields are not presented for update. This *normally* isn't a problem however, for this document I'm trying to put someone else's name as author (since they wrote it and I formatted it) and I can't. It very well may be pilot error and I apologize if it is. I've also checked the 'Properties' menu option and there's no place to set the author's name for the document! A side effect that I've run into is also that the "Print to PDF" option does not create the table of contents/index in the PDF whereas "Export to PDF" does. Expected behavior: Before printing or Exporting, I'd expect to be able to set any/all variable fields from the 'Properties' menu option or in another dialog. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76021] FORMATTING: Libre Office Writer: save As HTML results in interlaced and tags
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76021 --- Comment #2 from Patrick Goetz --- > HTML is not XML and therefore doesn't require nested tags or XML document > structure. While this might very well have been true in 1998, all modern versions of HTML are also valid XML with DTD's and Doctypes. In any case, users expect to get valid output, and often the reason someone is doing Save as HTML in the first place is the document is going to be parsed. It makes no sense to start out with a document that must be valid xml and end up with invalid HTML This is quite embarrassing. I've been recommending that people upgrade to Libre Office from MS Office, but in this case at least Microsoft is putting out valid HTML. I don't understand what happened, I don't recall seeing this with previous versions of Open Office. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

At this moment the display is fine for the original cell. If I apply this format in a new cell with a values of 123,45 as a custom format, it displays 1,23€. For information in Right click > Format Cell > Number, the last one with the description # ##0,00 "€";[RED]-# ##0,00 "€", the example displayed here is 1,23€. Maybe something wrong with the french version ? > * Resaved as .xlsx > * Open .xlsx in Excel Or LibreOffice, the result is the same for me. > * Shown content in cell A1 is 123,45€ which is correct. Not for me, it displays 1,23€. * Right click > Format Cell shows : # ##0,00 €;[RED]-# ##0,00 € The " are gone. I don't know if it's the same for every versions but in the french version the format # ##0,00 €;[RED]-# ##0,00 € doesn't display the result excpected. And this is the case for both LibreOffice and Excel 2010. This is because of the space I think, # ##0,00\ €;[RED]-# ##0,00\ € works as excepted.
