J, thank you for posting your enhancement request, and sorry for the delay. I’m
currently designing how such a feature should look and behave as part of bug
34882, which is an earlier request. I am considering your use case and will
become part of the final outcome. Thanks for your time!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89812] New: SORT cells by colour

2015-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89812

Bug ID: 89812
   Summary: SORT cells by colour
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: warhan...@gmail.com

Hi,

I would like to be able to sort cells by colour. This was quite easy in Excel,
however since I have moved over to LibreOffice completely I would like to see
this functionality in LibreOffice as well. I have read the forums but getting
the sort by colour looks a bit tricky. It would be great of simply under "Data
-> Sort" there would be an option for Colour and not simply by Column.

Thank you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39936] UI: Right Click on Row/Column -> Insert Copied Cells... (paste + shift cells in one click)

2015-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39936

How do I donate to have this done?

I really don't have time to poke through the massive codebase, but all the
pieces are there:

* the Paste Special + Shift cells down functionality
* keyboard handling to intercept Ctrl+Shift++/= (control shift plus/equals)

When done, I can't imagine the patch will be more complicated than 10 lines of
code. If it is, that suggests a need for refactoring the paste special
functionality.

As requested, I have tested this problem with LO4.4.1.2.

Unfortunately, nothing has changed: the bug is still there exactly as it was.

Powerpoint exports to microsoft's proprietary WMV format and LibreOffice should
export to open source formats like mkv, ogv and webm, but in order to do so, it
would have to bundle an encoder along with it.

It would be nice to know if this was already done as a GSoC as thorsten
mentioned in comment 2, else it should be added as a GSoC.

I believe the simplest first approach to solving this problem is to export to
the avi format, which is well documented, using the already built in JPG
encoding found LibreOffice. The video file would not contain audio and simply
store compressed JPG images of the presentation sequence frames, leaving a 5
second gap between slides as videos dont have mouse click functionality.

Storing jpgs in an AVI is quite popular used with digital cameras by setting
the video codec to MJPEG ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_JPEG ). Users
would then be able to convert the video to another format if they choose.

I had recently corresponded with a twitter user who wanted to have this
functionality. https://twitter.com/meneer/status/572894833389527042

Very large file containing complex data on people's livelihoods

To reproduce the bug:

Using the attached file, open a cell like CU90 on the "Data" sheet (the sheet
may need to be unprotected. Do the edit by sliding the group of cells in each
Count($T90:$AJ90) expression Count($AL90:$BB90). Do this repeatedly, without
saving the file, on a number of cells in Row 90 from CU to DK and keep
repeating the same in Row 91 until the software crashes. Sometimes Calc is good
and doesn't crash easily, sometimes it crashes on each edit.

Another thing that seemed to cause crashes is adding columns. Try doing this to
the sheet.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for bringing this subject back. I wish so and i think it is not added
before https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/Ideas

> I believe the simplest first approach to solving this problem is to export
> to the avi format, which is well documented, using the already built in JPG

This won't help i think. No audio, animations and transistions will not perform
good, so that won't be MULTIMEDIA. I tried it manually, exported slides as
jpegs (see: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67614)
converting them via video editor etc... but this is ends with a slideshow,
rather than a 'Prensentation'.

Currently, you can create good presentations (some major features like
narration is absent but it is still ok) but you experience interoperability
issues LibreOffice to Ms Office even LibreOffice on Linux to LibreOffice on
Windows in terms of Impress.

Exporting a presentation to a video is the best way to avoid them. Which most
of Impress users struggled and found this way with no success. I guess the the
guy on twitter wants this feature for this reasons.

> I had recently corresponded with a twitter user who wanted to have this
> functionality. https://twitter.com/meneer/status/572894833389527042

As i said above, if it is not added/accepted to GSoC, we can raise crowdfund on
https://freedomsponsors.org/project/149/LibreOffice#/LibreOffice or somewhere
else.

Best regards,
Zeki

The issue still exists in LO 4.4.1.2 (4.4.1.2 Arch Linux build-1) en_GB locale
on Linux.

The 'select encoding' dialog now allows a choice of UTF-7, UTF-8, UTF-16
(UTF-16 works, with a Chinese-capable font selected).

LO 4.4.1.2 on Windows still opens the file correctly using the 'all files' file

Tested on Win & Linux. I don't know what sliding means, so I just manually

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72438] LibreLogo: icons in Logo toolbar replaced by text only

2015-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72438

I can always reproduce this in Windows 7 64 bit when the bar is "undocked" in
initial screen.

In Writer:

1 - Go to File -> New -> Text Document

2 - Show the Logo bar: View -> Toolbars -> Logo

3 - Undock the Logo toobar (leave it floating on screen)

4 - Go to File -> New -> Text Document

5 - The new document will show Logo toolbar but the button pictures become the
tooltip texts, and the toolbar gets very wide. This will happen with every new
document if the toolbar is undocked.

If the Logo toolbar starts docked at any side of the screen, the bug does not
take place.

Unfortunately I cannot test in a Linux machine...

Tested on LO 4.3.6.2 but it is a bug in version 4.4 too.

Best regards,
Gilvan.

Not clear what you mean, or why you set a patch flag.

Most of the 17 standard HTML and 123 CSS3 defined colors are already present in
the the html.soc pallet, selected from the dropdown menu. It uses the CSS names
in that pallet and include HEX and decimal values all of which are displayed as
Tooltip on mouse over.

The standard.soc (used as default) has different naming, which do not include
the HEX or decimal values.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64313] Impress: I can not change the effect property direction to multiple slides at once.

2015-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64313

Could be "effects" and not "slide":

In impress, if you write a text frame with X paragraphs and you apply a effect
for move it.

Now select all effects and you can change the START field: click, later, ...
but you can not change the DIRECTION for all it.

Version 4.4.1.2 Libreoffice.

Hi dtr,

The first paragraph of page 4(2) :
  Format > Paragraph
  Tab Text flow ..
has an inserted extra page break _with_ page style.
Pls change that to solve the problem.

(If I misunderstood the problem: apologies. Then please reopen with more
explanation)

Ciao,
Cor

Unable to reproduce with a text box.

Maybe you could try 4.4.1:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the OS information (+
hopefully test result with 4.4.1).
