[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106641] New: Cell content disappears after modifying a text entry highlighted as a link
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106641 Bug ID: 106641 Summary: Cell content disappears after modifying a text entry highlighted as a link Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.5.1 release Hardware: Other OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: crea...@icloud.com Description: Spreadsheet: 1) Text entry becomes a link without my consent, e.g. a dark background appears and it is no longer wrapped in 'normal' view 2) Links cannot be modified to correct spelling errors. Any attempt to do so causes all the text to disappear when moving to another cell. 3) Removing a comma after an email address converts all the text into a link as in the attached 4) If UNDO works and original cell view appears okay, moving from one sheet to another and back results in the cell content becoming a link, see attached. Steps to Reproduce: 1. I don't know how to initiate this. Tried: Entered an email with text after it and tabbed to another cell and it remained as text. Added comma after the email and the email converted to a link, but the text after it remained as text. The link could not be modified afterwards. 2. This oddity has occurred in previous versions of LibreOffice and has resulted in loss of data, i.e. original cell data cannot be retrieved by repeated undo action. I was lucky this time and undo worked. 3. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_3) AppleWebKit/602.4.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0.3 Safari/602.4.8 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I have this idea. Imagine someone types a words with an hyphen and the word is not in the speller. What happens currently is that if the word before and after the hyphen are in the speller, no typo is reported. I would like an enhancement that would work like this: Imagine I typed: on-line If Hunspell didn't find this exact match, it would search for the word without the hyphen. If found without the hyphen, "online", it would mark the current word as a typo and suggest the one in the speller. This is just a small example to explain because "on-line" and "online" are both in the spellers. Painting "Direct Formatting" is a recipe for inconsistent results. It sort of works, but then moving between LibreOffice native ODF and MS Word OOXML is never going to handle the filter conversion 100%. And if you are habitually saving to OOXML (e.g. .docx) from LibreOffice, please understand that is a filter based approximation. The same for the older MS binary formats, i.e. .doc, but that is a bit more constrained and so more consistent. "Round trip" formatting errors is self inflicted pain. What you need is already provided, just not as manual "Direct Formatting". What makes for much better fidelity and consistency is to establish a new "Style" based on an initial Copy/Paste special and to modify that style as needed . Suggest an investment in learning how to work with styles and templates will make for a better user experience for you. The Help "built-in" or "online" will describe the various widgets. But a read of the LibreOffice "Official" documentation is is more rewarding for how-to usage. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications Or if you prefer help in a more detailed treatise, Bruce Byfield's (CC BY-SA 3.0) "Designing with LibreOffice" book is *very* useful. http://designingwithlibreoffice.com/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106575 --- Comment #11 from Amit Seal Ami--- (In reply to Xisco Faulí from comment #10) > Could you please mention the steps to reproduce it with the new file? > better to have a list of steps than a video I am not sure how it can be reproduced. I've been using LibreOffice for years, and this is the first time something like this happened which only affected a few cells. I simply used vlookup to refer values from one sheet to another the usual way. Later after printing and checking, - I suddenly found that the values being shown were not correct, even though the formula was right. The formulas were applied throughout the columns by double-clicking the cell handler after writing it once. I provided the file as a sample so that the existence of the bug can be confirmed. I am providing further details so that it is easier to understand what is being referred where. 1. The 2ndTrimester sheet contains data related to results, first column Roll is going to be used as lookup index in vlookup function. 2. The Detailed Sheet is using IFERROR(VLOOKUP()) to get values from 2ndTrimester sheet. It is looking at the roll from the first column, using it to lookup a particular row in A22 to O60 range in 2ndTrimester Sheet, if matched - it is taking the value from the specified column, if there is any error, it is replacing the value with 0. 3. For example, check A16 in Detailed Sheet. The J16 contains the following formula: =IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A16,$2ndTrimester.$A$22:$O$60,5,0), 0) for 1612, the value being of A16, the value of $2ndTrimester.$A$22:$O$60 is 3.75. However, the value being shown at J16 is ... 0. The same goes for K16, L16, M16, J17, K17, M17, J18, K18, L18, M18, J19, K19, L19, M19. An interesting observation is that the bug affected columns seemingly shifted a row. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106643] New: Problems with objects (drawing) in Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106643 Bug ID: 106643 Summary: Problems with objects (drawing) in Writer Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.1.2 rc Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: t...@mic-consulting.de Something has changes in all internal organisation of drawing-objects in Writer. So unfortunatly sometimes it is not possible to work with it. 1. Automatic name of the object is not changeable. This is ok but libreOffice do not use differnt names when copying the object. Example: - open an new writer doc - create a drawing object (i.e. a square). Object will be placed in document and get an automatic Name (form1) - name is visible in navigator. By double-Click on the objectname the object is selected. - now select the object - copy and paste it (crtl + c - crtl + v - you can even use the menu-entries). - now you have two iditical objects, but the have now both the object name "form1" so it is not longer possibel to select a form using the navigator - all objects with the same name will be selected as a group! strange behavieour. Well, this may not be a big problem, but using 20 or 30 similar objects - something going wrong. 2. nearly unusable this behaviour will occur, when placing the object (anker) in footer or header line. - create the object - it will be ankered in main text area. - use cut an copy to anker object in header area. now place object outside of the header area (using mouse) - important: anker should be stay in header-line!- so object will be displayed on every page. - now try to access the object again. With the mouse it is impossible! Only way is the navigator. - if you now have copied this object and so you do have same object names you only have chaos. Solution should be: - every new object should get a new name - even if it is createt by copy and paste! - add a posibility to change name of objects - there must be an easier way to access an object, which is ankered in header/footer line. Mouseklick should be possible -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
