I can reproduce the problem same as comment 5.

In addition, it occurs after I upgraded LibreOffice 5.1.2.2(x86) to

Resetting the user profile has no effect.

thus, it's a regression. I tried to bisect it with bibisect-44max but the

it's ok as long as the bug can be reproduced with the new data, otherwise it's

Mark Hung committed a patch related to this issue.
It has been pushed to "libreoffice-5-3":

tdf#106295 fix vertical orientation for fullwidth colon and semicolon.

It will be available in 5.3.3.

The patch should be included in the daily builds available at
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More
information about daily builds can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds

Version: 5.3.1.2 is still defect.

Even the print preview is totally distorted!

@Khaled: Is there any progress? Do you need support? If yes, do you get
support? If there is no progress or any plan how to proceed we need to revoke
these changes.

The patch has broken Calc's print functions for millions of users! The
advantages of your patch to achieve more consistent rendering across platforms
does not outweigh these tremendous disadvantages.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106641] New: Cell content disappears after modifying a text entry highlighted as a link

2017-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106641

Bug ID: 106641
Summary: Cell content disappears after modifying a text entry
highlighted as a link
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: crea...@icloud.com

Description:
Spreadsheet:
1) Text entry becomes a link without my consent, e.g. a dark background appears
and it is no longer wrapped in 'normal' view
2) Links cannot be modified to correct spelling errors. Any attempt to do so
causes all the text to disappear when moving to another cell.
3) Removing a comma after an email address converts all the text into a link as
in the attached
4) If UNDO works and original cell view appears okay, moving from one sheet to
another and back results in the cell content becoming a link, see attached.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I don't know how to initiate this. Tried: Entered an email with text after
it and tabbed to another cell and it remained as text. Added comma after the
email and the email converted to a link, but the text after it remained as
text. The link could not be modified afterwards.
2. This oddity has occurred in previous versions of LibreOffice and has
resulted in loss of data, i.e. original cell data cannot be retrieved by
repeated undo action. I was lucky this time and undo worked.
3.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

User Profile Reset: No

Xisco,
is it okay to remove the sensitive information and upload it? I should mention
that any modification to sheets "refreshes" the values by recalculating the
formula in the sheets. From the uploaded file, it might not be possible to view
the values being refreshed, but it might give some idea.

[11:03] marcoagpinto: regarding tdf#106640, if you're reporting that
issue, at least you should highlight the difference between LibreOffice and MS
Office, and state which part do you want.

[11:04] Otherwise it is very likely to be a invalid bug.

[11:05] What I mean is "abc-def", if the words "abc" and "def"
exist in the speller, Hunspell won't mark as a typo, but if it doesn't find
"abc-def" and finds "abcdef" would suggest "abcdef"

[11:06] tml__: that is how M$ Word works

So, M$ Word is better in this case

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106640] New: Improve the Hunspell engine

2017-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106640

Bug ID: 106640
   Summary: Improve the Hunspell engine
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

CC: ba...@caesar.elte.hu, dennisroc...@libreoffice.org,
janthevik...@icloud.com, marcoagpi...@mail.telepac.pt,
nem...@numbertext.org

Hello Németh,

Could you improve the Hunspell engine to make it more accurate just like in M$
Office?

I have this idea.

Imagine someone types a words with an hyphen and the word is not in the
speller.

What happens currently is that if the word before and after the hyphen are in
the speller, no typo is reported.

I would like an enhancement that would work like this:

Imagine I typed:
on-line

If Hunspell didn't find this exact match, it would search for the word without
the hyphen.

If found without the hyphen, "online", it would mark the current word as a typo
and suggest the one in the speller.

This is just a small example to explain because "on-line" and "online" are both
in the spellers.

Thank you!

but "more accurate just like in M$ Office" is vague.

[11:10] MarkHung: what I mean is that if no word with hyphen is
found in the speller, but it checks without the hyphen, and if it finds, it
will suggest without the hyphen

I notice the main window of LibreOffice cannot be resized smaller than about
600 pixels in height when it opens no documents.
The resizing limit seems to be remained wrongly after "no documents" state.

It can be reproduced:
 1. Start LibreOffice Writer.
 2. Close the untitled document.
 3. Open any document.
 4. Resizing the window is restricted.

I hope this will help.

Would it be possible to have a more simple use case?
Indeed,
in step 2 Select the contents of form "Demo 1" : There's no "select all"

only selects Demo 1 text. Is it mandatory to select every element of Demo 1?
in step 4.1) in navigator, how to access elements from demo 1 ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39325] en-GB offline help is not shown under en-GB locale, because LO starts with en-US instead of en-GB

2017-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39325

In accordance with Comment 15, I can confirm bug still exists with exactly the
same behaviour with
LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 with OS Linux Mint 17.3 and
LibreOffice 5.2.3.3 with OS Windows 7

It cannot be confirmed in LibreOffice 5.3.1.2 under Linux LXLE 14.04 as Help
appears to be disabled entirely in LO 5.3.1.2. (Pressing F1 or selecting menu
item Help->LibreOffice Help invokes NEITHER online help NOR the installed local
Help EN-GB. It is therefore not possible to determine whether the bug still
exists until the new bug (NO HELP AT ALL) is resolved)

However, in LO 5.3.1.2 the workaround of manually selecting an appropriate non
EN-US language does not work as LO 5.3.1.2 has only one language (English-US)
available for the interface. (my LXLE machine has 4 languages installed so the
issue is not with the OS)

It's a different one. The one I meant is
Tools / Options / LibreOffice Writer / General / Use square page mode

If 'Snap to text grid' in alignment tab is unchecked, the paragraph will ignore
grid setting.

Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file
"user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in
Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are
overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

When I'd like to show Label and Icon view for the two functions .uno:Color and
.uno:Backcolor I get two different rectangulars with the color.

In the Icon only view the color is on bottom of the icon. Would it be possible
to have this behavior. and why are the rectangulars different in wide?

It appears so. I didn't find that bug because I didn't notice it anywhere else

duplicated.

Maybe it's worth putting my report as comment in that bug?

The worst is that it's not reproducible, for me it just happens after a long
time using Calc. A non-reproducible bug is very hard to fix, as I've witnessed
many times, and just recently in a six-hour debug session.

The same happens to me on Arch Linux (LO 5.3.1, Plasma 5.9.3). My resolution is
1600x900 with 131x131 DPI.

It happens with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN set to kde4 (my long-time default), gtk or
gen. With SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN set to gtk3, icons are fine. However, with this
value, "everything else" is smaller -- a document outline takes less space
(with zoom level set to 100% in all test cases), a text with the font set to 12
points is much smaller (not only compared to other SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN values but
also in comparison with the same text using the same font in Calligra Words),
etc.

Sorry, nothing actionable as a bug here.

Painting "Direct Formatting" is a recipe for inconsistent results. It sort of
works, but then moving between LibreOffice native ODF and MS Word OOXML is
never going to handle the filter conversion 100%.

And if you are habitually saving to OOXML (e.g. .docx) from LibreOffice, please
understand that is a filter based approximation. The same for the older MS
binary formats, i.e. .doc, but that is a bit more constrained and so more
consistent. "Round trip" formatting errors is self inflicted pain.

What you need is already provided, just not as manual "Direct Formatting".

What makes for much better fidelity and consistency is to establish a new
"Style" based on an initial Copy/Paste special and to modify that style as
needed .

Suggest an investment in learning how to work with styles and templates will
make for a better user experience for you.

The Help "built-in" or "online" will describe the various widgets. But a read
of the LibreOffice "Official" documentation is is more rewarding for how-to
usage.

Or if you prefer help in a more detailed treatise, Bruce Byfield's (CC BY-SA

Hi Xisco,

After trying for a few hours by trying to modify the contents programmatically
(python, pyexcel_ods, and other libraries) I finally was able to remove the
sensitive data by editing the content.xml directly after unzipping.

I checked and the file is affected by the aforementioned bug. I opened it using
both LibreOffice 5.3.0.3 and 5.4.0.0.alpha0+.

I hope this will be useful.

Now, I leave the rest to you, as I gotta take some rest. (ouch, my back hurts)
:D

I am not sure how it can be reproduced.
I've been using LibreOffice for years, and this is the first time something
like this happened which only affected a few cells. I simply used vlookup to
refer values from one sheet to another the usual way. Later after printing and
checking, - I suddenly found that the values being shown were not correct, even
though the formula was right. The formulas were applied throughout the columns
by double-clicking the cell handler after writing it once.

I provided the file as a sample so that the existence of the bug can be
confirmed. I am providing further details so that it is easier to understand
what is being referred where.

1. The 2ndTrimester sheet contains data related to results, first column Roll
is going to be used as lookup index in vlookup function.

2. The Detailed Sheet is using IFERROR(VLOOKUP()) to get values from
2ndTrimester sheet. It is looking at the roll from the first column, using it
to lookup a particular row in A22 to O60 range in 2ndTrimester Sheet, if
matched - it is taking the value from the specified column, if there is any
error, it is replacing the value with 0.

3. For example, check A16 in Detailed Sheet. The J16 contains the following
formula:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A16,$2ndTrimester.$A$22:$O$60,5,0), 0)

for 1612, the value being of A16, the value of $2ndTrimester.$A$22:$O$60 is
3.75.
However, the value being shown at J16 is ... 0. The same goes for K16, L16,
M16, J17, K17, M17, J18, K18, L18, M18, J19, K19, L19, M19.

An interesting observation is that the bug affected columns seemingly shifted a
row. Here is what I mean shown in this picture: http://imgur.com/a/Hxdq3

I hope this will be informative enough.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106643] New: Problems with objects (drawing) in Writer

2017-03-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106643

Bug ID: 106643
Summary: Problems with objects (drawing) in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.1.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@mic-consulting.de

Something has changes in all internal organisation of drawing-objects in
Writer. So unfortunatly sometimes it is not possible to work with it.

1.
Automatic name of the object is not changeable. This is ok but libreOffice do
not use differnt names when copying the object.

Example:
- open an new writer doc
- create a drawing object (i.e. a square). Object will be placed in document
and get an automatic Name (form1) - name is visible in navigator. By
double-Click on the objectname the object is selected.

- now select the object - copy and paste it (crtl + c - crtl + v - you can even
use the menu-entries).
- now you have two iditical objects, but the have now both the object name
"form1" so it is not longer possibel to select a form using the navigator - all
objects with the same name will be selected as a group! strange behavieour.

Well, this may not be a big problem, but using 20 or 30 similar objects -
something going wrong.

2.
nearly unusable this behaviour will occur, when placing the object (anker) in
footer or header line.

- create the object - it will be ankered in main text area.
- use cut an copy to anker object in header area. now place object outside of
the header area (using mouse) - important: anker should be stay in
header-line!- so object will be displayed on every page.

- now try to access the object again. With the mouse it is impossible! Only way
is the navigator.
- if you now have copied this object and so you do have same object names you
only have chaos.

Solution should be:
- every new object should get a new name - even if it is createt by copy and
paste!
- add a posibility to change name of objects
- there must be an easier way to access an object, which is ankered in
header/footer line. Mouseklick should be possible

I've been able to reproduce this bug using Paul451's steps. Clicking below the
input area where the double arrow to drag appears also fixes the problem.

Linus: I know that when I create a file with the explorer options put there by
Microsoft Office, the file is 0 kB. Do you think it is actually MS Office
creating the OpenDocument files? This would mean everything is going as
expected.
