@reporter: just to be sure, do you use several monitors?

Also, are you able to reproduce the crash?
If yes, could you try with another rendering, I mean:
- launch a terminal,
- type one of these:
   - for gen rendering: export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen
   - for kde rendering: export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kde4
- launch LO with your file

Searching about what could segfault when creating std::pair, I found this:

Since "pScreen" type is GdkScreen*, this could be the pb.

Example with same image as backgound and as graphic object

Open attached document. It has three master pages. The first master page has an
image with 240dpi as background, the second master page has an image with 96
dpi as background, the third master page has solid color.

The third slide has the images inserted. Here the dpi values are respected. In
the crop dialog, you will find both have 100% size.

The pink rectangle has the desired size of width 9cm and height 4cm to make
size comparison easier.

Expected behavior: The images on the background are sized as given by there
pixels and their dpi setting, same as when the images are inserted directly on
to the slide.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113872] Highlight colors change

Same as bug 98944. Quote:
This thing happens because MS highlighting has only 15 highlighting color and
when you save Writer text background \ highlighting to an MS format it is
converted to this color palette.
It's the default behavior, but you can change this at Tools -> Option ->
Load/Save -> Microsoft Office, to save Writer text background as MS Shading and
so colors won't change. Nut in this case when you open that *.doc file in MS
Word you could not change the text background with highlighting tool, but with
the shading tool:
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/hub/2011/04/05/how-to-select-more-highlight-colors-in-word/

Before the 5.0 version sometimes we saved Writer text background as shading
(doc, docx), sometimes as highlighting (rtf). From that version an option is
added, so the user can select the preferred behavior. Highlighting became the
default, because on LO UI text background is called highlighting. This option
can be set also via user profile.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108526] Calc not Win10 DPI aware, display elements missing on 4K screen

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108526

How would I check permonitor, permonitorv2, or unaware?

Here is what I did; I set the LibreOffice5.4.2.2 x64 desktop shortcut
"Compatibility" to "Override high DPI scaling behavior" to "Scaling performed
by" [Application], [System], [System (Enhanced)]. All three modes seem to work
with SCalc.

Turn off "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and the problem of missing or
extremely light horizontal cell lines reappear.

Either of the "System" compatibility modes is desirable. The "Application"
setting makes the application look like it's been zoomed to 2x... large and
gross.

Currently stretch has libroffice 5.2.7, stretch-backports and buster (testing)
have 5.4.2 while sid (unstable) has 5.4.3.

Also on demo.verapdf-org did you select the PDF/A-1a profile ?

--- Comment #4 from mattreecebent...@gmail.com ---
In the majority of applications, this is represented by having the property
blank or in 'empty state' where the properties of multiple selected items
conflict.

That way, if the user wants to change that property for all items they can, or
if they are changing another property, it remains unaltered.

I mean - even Excel '97 does this... it's not like it's a new innovation here..

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113893

Bug ID: 113893
Summary: FILESAVE Saving + loading with copied content produces
unexpected newlines
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: wal...@pratyeka.org

Created attachment 137820

Example PDF with multiline text to copy/paste

Steps to reproduce on MacOSX 10.12.6.

1. Create a new file.

2. Select a multiline string (example attachment provided - specifically, for
my testing, copy the Chinese company name which is split on to two lines, from
":无限..." through to "...有限公司" on the next line.)

3. Paste in to the file.

4. Notice there is no newline.

5. Save the file.

6. Close the file.

7. Re-open the file.

8. Notice a newline has appeared where it existed in the original PDF document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76476] There is a white bar on top when entered full-screen mode ( OS X only)

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76476

This bug still exists in LO 5.4.3002 on macOS 10.11.6, even it's behavior is a
little changed. The menubar now appears replaced from a black bar instead from
a withe bar, but document didn't use entry screen like before. The correct
behavior for OS X (now macOS) fullscreen mode, is that the content of document
windows covers entry screen, even the menubar. There will be 20-30 pixel more
space in height, nothing really indispensable... but the bug is still there.
And I noticed another strange behavior related to macOS fullscreen mode (don't
know if it need to open another bug report): in fullscreen mode, if I close the
opened document, LibreOffice hold in fullscreen mode with a blackscreen, and
the only thing I can do, is to open a new document to exit fullscreen mode, or
quit LibreOffice. The correct behavior is that LibreOffice exits from
fullscreen mode if the fullscreen document will be closed.

Please note that there are two different "full-screen" modes: The traditional
cross-platform LibreOffice one (View > Full Screen), and the system one (the
green roundel in the left end of the title bar of a window. See comment #2. I
have no reason to change my opinion.

When commenting here, please make sure which full-screen mode you are talking
about.

Does your menu problem look like bug 107764?
The solution to that one was to update Intel drivers
Device Manager -> Display adapters -> Intel(R) HD Graphics xxx - > Update

Maybe it will solve the mouse problem as well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113849] FILESAVE: Saving a file as .docx format adds spurious extra page breaks

They are not added, they already exist in the .odt.

The visible thing after "make her new home perfect." is a non-breaking space.
Just remove it.

Looking inside the content.xml we see the invisible things are soft page
breaks:

to pans and pots.

had also been the worst night.

I did not find a way to remove the soft page breaks in the LibreOffice GUI. So
you would have to unzip the .odt and edit the content.xml to remove the
elements manually. Then zip everything back again and
rename the file type to .odt.

I found a mention of soft page breaks related to Page styles using Next style,
but when I changed it in your document it did not help:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Changing_Page_Orientation_Landscape_or_Portrait#One_Page_Long_Styles

Closing as NOTABUG.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76476] There is a white bar on top when entered full-screen mode ( OS X only)

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76476

(In reply to Tor Lillqvist from comment #17)
> Please note that there are two different "full-screen" modes: The
> traditional cross-platform LibreOffice one (View > Full Screen),
In the latest versions of LibreOffice, it was replaced from system one.
LibreOffice "full-screen" mode is still available by doble clicking on the
document title bar or option-clicking "the green roundel in the left...". So,
as you can see, I'm aware form what I'm talking. But this is not the point.
I'm aware that's not a stopping issue too, but behavior is still there and not
OS coherent.
And one more thing: I think that the lake of full-screen exit (systems one)
after document closure, is a noisier bug than the wrong document resizing.

> If I simply remove the broken "support" for system full-screen mode, will
> people scream?
I think none will scream, but it's not a serious way to respond to people that
spend their time to give a contribution to make LO better (in this case only
for OS coherence). Independently how little the contribution are.

Reproduction in LO 5.3.6.1:

1) Open a table (doesn't matter whether it's saved as XLS or ODS)
In my case, it's a game design doc listing all previous updates with all items
that were added; not quite 5000 lines

2) Open Chrome, 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit), create a new Google
Sheets table (the testcase I'm supposed to be working on)

3) Highlight a line in the table by clicking the line number

4) Press Ctrl and C

5) Switch to browser

6) in the Google Docs table, press Ctrl-V

Result: Open Office crashes (estimated 80% reproduction rate)

Does "Text encapsulation" sound too old school, not user friendly or not easily
understood. For me it is the least unambiguous, but the widest understanding is
desirable, especially if the interface is not in the users first language.

After some more testing, this is an issue with rendering the exported pptx in
PowerPoint for Mac. PowerPoint for Windows (MSO2007) shows the GDI table fine
as you say.

This happens irregardless of whether I use LO Mac or Windows to export the pptx

So then the question is if this is a compatibility bug in LO, or a bug in
PowerPoint for Mac and Apple's rendering engine in Preview and Keynote.

I think you've definitely found the crashing line. That appears to be the only
std::deque::push_back

pScreen is just a GdkScreen *pointer* though and nMonitors just a number so
custom classes doesn't arise, just as well be two integers really, so perhaps
the problem is with the maScreenMonitors or above in the stack trace

I can't actually see how one could get from vcl::Window::AcquireGraphics to
GtkSalSystem::countScreenMonitors

countScreenMonitors is called either from GtkSalSystem::GtkSalSystem which
should be done long before now or from screenSizeChanged and monitorsChanged
which should be called from signal callbacks which isn't the case here.

so I don't know what's going on here. I feel a more generic bug further up the
stack though.

This dialog does no longer exist in current versions (5.3.7 and 5.4.3). The
current workflow is to first import the image and then set the kind of filling.
The current versions have an item "Custom", where you can select a percent
value and a check box "Scale" to decide, whether the value is relative to the
slide size or relative to the image size.

But the dialog has no options, to easily get the percent value, which is needed
to scale the image with keeping ration to height or width. Therefore I set this
to enhancement request.

That was the fix for bug 107012 to have correct date order when converting
between locales ... For Excel the format is needed in en-US locale context
(where date order is MDY) but Excel does not handle the date particle order for
the target locale. Only thing we can do is ignore change of date order when
converting for Excel export.
