No, I ask to make localizable all template names as displayed in the template
selection dialog (when

This must be done for templates for presentations and for documents. Also
document template names are too long and get cropped when displayed on macOS,
but that should probably be another bug report (but can be seen in a screenshot
I will attach).

See the attached screenshots. The problematic eEtJB is highlighted with two
ovals on the presentations screenshot.

This string defined in [1] uses %DOCNAME at many places, which means changing
is delicate. The quotes aren't a problem and interestingly there is a AOO
guideline stating that quotes are the way to go [2]. So my take is to just add
single quotes that can be localized easily.

WORKSFORME as this is the standard behavior of (dropdown) lists. Resorting as
we do for the font name is very uncommon and likely ends up in a mess. The same
is true when you have something in mind as remembering the last used selection.

However, our guideline [1] states to sort in a natural way and to have the most
common option on top.

* Place options that represent general options (e.g. all, none) at the
beginning of the list.
* Sort list items in a logical order. Make sure sorting fits translation.
* Do not have blank list items; use meta-options, e.g. (None) instead

Which is the fact for the date field with YY/MM/DD for locale en_US and
DD.MM.YY for de_DE.

On the other hand I understand that it is tedious to not be able to use the
shortcut Insert>Field>Date but always have to go through the dialog.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41468] FILEOPEN: table in particular MSO2007 .docx file has excessively wide and out of bounds last column

Why is this important how this file was generated???

If LO wants compatibility with docx, it must open all docx files without
problems. The file in question can be opened without problem in MS word!

But for your curiosity: this file was written in emacs, using its org mode
and then converted via pandoc https://pandoc.org/
to docx. I presume that pandoc satisfies certain (ISO?) rules of the docx
syntax.

I think the "increase indent" button is a bit confusing in the case of lists.
As far as I concern, it doesn't increase the indent but changes to the next
level of the list.

Please try the following:
1. Mark the whole text
2. Open context menu => bullets and numbering

Here you can see the different indents of the different levels and also the
different bullets and you can adjust the bullet list.

I close this bug as NOTABUG, if you don't agree, feel free to change it back to
UNCONFIRMED.

Thank you Dieter. I know that it works correctly when you export it from the
GUI. That is why I included the word "headlessly" in the title, and why I
explained how to export it with the command line in the steps to reproduce.
Exporting from the GUI is not a suitable solution for me, though.

Also, worksforme is defined here
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Fields/Status/RESOLVED#WORKSFORME
as "Someone in QA has tested this bug and is unable to reproduce it using the
provided steps and/or test documents." so it would be wrong to use it unless
you can't reproduce the bug using the *provided* steps, i.e. exporting from the
command line.

So, I am changing the status back to unconfirmed.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61284

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109062] Scrolling with touchpad or scrollwheel is not working on Mac

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109062

I can reproduce the erratic scrolling behavior on two MacBooks.

MacBook Air, Mid 2011, High Sierra 10.13.1
MacBook Pro, 2017, High Sierra 10.13.1

On both machines, scrolling works fine up to version 5.3.3.2, the erratic
behavior starts with version 5.3.4.1.

The symptoms are as described before: scrolling towards higher rows (down) and
columns (right) is not working reliable, sometimes it takes 3
two-finger-touches to start scrolling with the touchpad. Calc is not usable
with that behavior.

Independent from this erratic behavior, the scrolling performance on the
MacBook Pro is very poor unless I switch the color profile to the standard RGB
profile. It doesn't reach the performance of the 6 years-older MacBook Air,
where I can't detect an impact of the color profile to the scrolling
performance at all.

This is being handled in bug 114088.

> Also, one string that is present is not displayed when localized: eEtJB
> It is "Lush Green" in pot file, it is localized as "Izrazita zelena" in
> Slovenian, but it displays as "LushGreen" in UI (all referring to 60b2).

This is being resolved in this patch -

Problem is not solved. It is independent from bug 114287, because the right
indent of the paragraph has always to be used, being in a list or not.

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41468

Well, I think is important for multiple reasons. As you know, ANY program has
bugs, so is important IMHO to trace the document workflow if it's not natively
created with the application in which you find some issue. I have some (bad)
experiencies about this bugs that make a supposedly well generated file (on
distinct formats of data) that really is not well formed and it gave headaches
till I discover that were bugs in the software that created the file.

So it's not curiosity, it's simply information that can help developers to
consider other variables in the issue (in this case, could be not Writer
related really).

Thank you for the info.

Still occurs in this build, which I built myself:

Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 7c77ff5dd2d0573a56f8b59dc9113c23e0ea29c9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); Calc: CL

I looked at this with a debugger and it seems that the problem is that the
"search area", so to speak, doesn't get updated properly to reflect that each
character is replaced by five characters, i.e. there is a net change in size.

In more detail, I think that the problem is in TextView::Replace() in
libo-core\vcl\source\edit\textview.cxx. I found that it works fine on the first
line of the selection, but hangs up on the second line. After it has replaced
the first character, it invokes

pTextEngine->Search( aSel, rSearchOptions );

with aSel containing maStartPaM == {7, 5} and maEndPaM == {7, 4}.

Search(...) does a Justify() that swaps start and end, so that the search range
now begins at 4. This, however, is part of the 5-character string just
inserted. Because the string to find is regexp '.', one of the characters just
inserted now gets replaced again by 5 characters. The overall effect is that
the string keeps on growing.

I'd like to fix this one, but it's a bit beyond my current capability.

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 114366
Summary: UI: Button "default" in Style (Formatting) toolbar in
Writer doesn't work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@tubach.net

Description:
The "default" button in the Style (Formatting) toolbar in Writer doesn't work
with German translation. If I start lowriter with LANG=C everything works as
expected. In German nothing happens if I click the "default" button. Btw., the
German translation for that button is missing. (Though it's not the only button
in that toolbar where the translation is missing.) I could spot this behavior
on Arch Linux and macOS. I haven't tested other OS or languages.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Writer with German translation.
2. Enable the toolbar "Formatting (Style)". (In German "Formatierungen
(Formatvorlagen)")
3. Click on button "Strong".
4. Click on button "Default".

Actual Results:
"Strong" is still enabled and "Default" is disabled.

Expected Results:
"Default" should be enabled and "Strong" disabled.

Please have a look at bug 100383. It is likely similar to your problem. if you
agree, close this as duplicate.

There is currently a rework, so that only tab will change the level of a list

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33201] UI: Highlight (not select) current row and column in spreadsheet

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33201

I completely agree, the VBA macro for excel is something like 25 lines of code,
pretty sparse code In fact it just dynamically sets the background color
property of all cells in active row/column. Is it really so difficult to
implement something similar in LibreOffice that it takes several years?

Could you please test with this file?

I had to zip it because Bugzilla does not allow .ttc

Now I could repro the file size growth. I don't know what I missed before.
Maybe I did not switch to the DANE1 sheet.
How can I determine the column count increase?

Despite comment 7, let's set to NEW and see what happens.

Not seen in Linux 3.6.7 or Win 3.5.0. Let's call it a regression even though we
don't know for sure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114369] New: Label workflow requires simplification

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114369

Bug ID: 114369
   Summary: Label workflow requires simplification
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mike.saps...@gmail.com

Description:
1) To create labels from a spreadsheet, the spreadsheet must first be exported
to csv or dbf. 2) After selecting the (say) dbf file the fields from another
database are presented and the required fields must be swapped with them. 3) To
suppress blank fields the menu item Insert|Section must be used for reach one.

Why is there not dedicated labels workflow window that allows any source,
selects all fields, has a simple checkbox for suppress empty fields? This is
the most complicated thing many users ever want to do. I have introduced many
people to LibreOffice, but many have gone back to MS Office at Christmas, when
they are doing their Christmas cards.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a spreadsheet with titled label columns
2.Follow instructions to create a label - export to csv or dbf file
3.Create labels and insert sections to suppress blank fields

Actual Results:
Usually failure when entering sections to suppress blanks.
Reversion to manual editing or using gLabel.

Expected Results:
Much easier process without jumping around the menu.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
See MS Office or gLabel for better workflow.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95336] FILESAVE Saving a Document with "#" in name ( libreoffice dialogs)

2017-12-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95336

Still occurs in this build, which I built myself:

Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 7c77ff5dd2d0573a56f8b59dc9113c23e0ea29c9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); Calc: CL

although I don't get an error; instead it just chops off the # and anything
following it.

Steps to reproduce:

1. As said, this problem doesn't occur with Windows' built-in dialogs,
so you may first have to go to Tools > Options and then 'General'
and check the box 'Use LibreOffice dialogs'.
2. For any Calc document, select File > Save As... and type "abc#def"
   as the file name.

Expected behavior:
Should save the file under that name.

Actual behavior:
Saves it as "abc.ods".

-

The problem here is that the dialog ModelData_Impl::OutputFileDialog
(libo-core\sfx2\source\doc\guisaveas.cxx) treats the full path as an URL, so
for a local file it comes out as e.g.
"file:///C:/users/john/Documents/abc#def.ods". The # is then seen as the
beginning of a so-called fragment and chopped off.

Note, for the record, that Windows forbids certain characters like '*' in file
names, but '#' is allowed. See
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa365247(v=vs.85).aspx
