[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36582] "Find and replace" finds/replaces text deleted with "record/ track changes"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36582 --- Comment #18 from Gerry--- This bug still exists in LO 6.0 and is still very annoying. Example: If you work with long documents in a team, track changes is often enabled. If you then, for example, replace the British "ise" / "isation" with "ize" / "ization", then you end up with lots of rubbish in the document. LibreOffice Writer does also replace the string in all deleted words and displays the replaced string as not deleted (!). In other words, everywhere in the document are nonsense "ize" / "ization" strings, which you have to manually clean. -> extremely annoying and time-consuming bug! https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36582 --- Comment #19 from Gerry--- IMHO there are two possible ways to fix this bug: Either: (1) Writer should not find search strings in deleted text at all (meaning text deleted in Track Changes mode) Or: (2) Writer still finds search strings in all text (including deleted text in Track Changes mode) and also replaces them, but replaced text should be flagged as deleted. Solution 1 is preferable to solution 2. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117135 Bug ID: 117135 Summary: Scroll Zooming and zoom factor control pane Zoom all tabs - not just the current tab Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: that.man.co...@gmail.com Description: I'm convinced scroll zooming originally acted independently for each sheet in a multi-sheet file. This enabled the ability to focus on the most active area of each sheet. It's also far more cost-effective than buying new spectacles;). Currently both the scroll zoom and zoom factor control at the extreme lower right of the sheet impact all sheets. I've only recently moved onto release 6 and believe it manifested when I "migrated". I personally prefer the ability to control the zoom factor individually and I have searched CALC bugs for "zoom" and can't find anything relevant so it's not immediately apparent whether the change resulted from a request. If the change just "slipped in" then hopefully it can be remedied, if it was planned I guess it's a "reverse enhancement" and I just have to learn to live with it. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create multi-sheet file 2.Zoom any sheet 3.Observe the impact on all other sheets Actual Results: All sheets zoom Expected Results: only the focus sheet to zoom, thereby permitting alternate zoom factors for the varying formats on the remaining sheets Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.0.3.2 (x64) Build ID: 8f48d515416608e3a835360314dac7e47fd0b821 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; Locale: sv-SE (en_GB); Calc: group Open GL 4 is installed but deactivated in LO User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117020 --- Comment #2 from Emil Tanev--- The language is English, and yes, the hang happens in Safe mode as well. The bug is that after recovery of the document, Spellchecker is recovered as well and starts spell checking again. Not the actual hang. So, you can reproduce the Spellchecker recovery without the hang, by force quitting an empty Calc document and recovering it. Then compare the same behavior with Writer - Spellchecker does start automatically. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117144] New: Enhancing identification of existing bugs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117144 Bug ID: 117144 Summary: Enhancing identification of existing bugs Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: that.man.co...@gmail.com It is often difficult to formulate the correct enquiry to ascertain if a report or request has already been filed. In many instances, the user will know what menu choice was taken when the bug manifested itself and even an experienced user who will use keyboard shortcuts would be able to search help and quickly find the appropriate menu item. Would it be conceivable to provide a reference link alongside the menu choice or even in a non-functioning reference menu system here at bug central, in order that a user could simply identify the reference link and all reports associated with that specific link - by your triage team - could then be presented for consideration. The user could then more easily eliminate any duplication (s)he is about to create. The provision of a direct link to the specific function would probably complement existing version control procedures whereby you will already be ensuring the appropriate modules are assigned to the relevant coders and subsequently update the correct release(s). It might also facilitate a faster solution as newer reports can more easily be "pushed" to those currently engaged in the existing tasks. Don't misunderstand, I'm not implying the existing system could be inefficient. Eliminating much of the effort required to remove dross from the system can only help to streamline the response. Obviously, this is a very simplistic summation and all your existing management, prioritisation and integration of reports would still need to be fully considered. My primary intention was to identify that it could be easier to eliminate waste if the user had a better perception of the existing issues related to what is about to be reported. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I've actually noticed this before with things like custom sort order but simply embedded the sort order in the pertinent document and pasted it back into the sort customisation function if it went on the "missing" list following an upgrade. Are those sort of settings stored in the user profile, which is often recommended for reset as a first path to debugging other issues - and are they potentially overwritten with upgrades? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117092] Migration to Firebird fails for a simple table
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117092 --- Comment #10 from Gerhard Weydt--- I should perhaps give some information about this table. It is a single table isolated from a database because it's the one that caused trouble. The table describes the relation between the tables Mitglied and Jahr, hence its name. The relation is n:m, id is the primary key of Mitglied and Jahr is primary key of table Jahr. I needed a unique key consisting of these two fields, and as HSQLDB always wants a primary key, I chose not to create an additional column, but define this unique index as the primary key. In fact a unique index would have been sufficient. I tried to create a similar table in 6.1 with Firebird, with a unique index, which is explicitly allowed as one of the two ways to guarantee uniqueness, but the table isn't editable in Base. Now this could be the fault of Base and not of Firebird, because it's the same reaction as with a HSQLDB table without primary key. I will do some more testing and will probably enter that as another bug report, as it's not connected with migration. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100061] Table cells in specific Microsoft Word document not merge without changing column width
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100061 --- Comment #4 from Mike Kaganski--- The reason for the problem is that the red cells are already joined from initially unaligned cells. The second (hidden) cell of the first red merged cell actually has left border at 2 pts to the left compared with left border of the first cell of said merged cell. LibreOffice doesn't allow to merge unaligned cells; but in this case, the merge was performed in Word. If one splits the cells to initial state, then one won't be able to merge them back unless one aligns the borders. Actually I'm not sure if this should be considered a bug. We don't support non-rectangular cells, including merged; this is the case when we require strictly rectangular selection, when Word seem to be more forgiving. Maybe we could also accept some small allowance. The place in code that rejects the merge is in SwTable::CollectBoxSelection(), specifically "if( nLeft < nMin )". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
