A simple LO calc file.

Reset user profile as suggested.  Opening the .ods file directly via Calc still
crashed.  Removing Libreoffice completely and reinstalling it again did not
help.

Screenshot of the observed bug.

1. New Writer window.
2. Format > Paragraph > Borders > Presets: Set All Four Borders.
3. Make sure "Make with next paragraph" is checked.
4. Click OK. Should have the only empty paragraph with border.
5. Type "This is a list:", press Enter.
6. Type "Item 1", press Enter.
7. Type "Item 2", press Enter.
8. Type "This is a comment after the list", press Enter.
9. Select the two items (From I in "Item 1" to 2 in "Item 2").
10. Click on "Toggle Bulleted List" on the toolbar.

Observed behavior: Item 1 and Item 2 now have their own border.

Expected behavior: Item 1 and Item 2 should still share their border with the
rest of the document.

After restarting the desktop, working again on the text document, five minutes
later the cursor remained as if ready to click to add text, but no reaction
from soffice.bin.  After three minutes waiting, stopping soffice using task
manager and then restarting (Open GL still disabled, normal mode), this crash
report was offered:

UUID  f6941804-9c30-49da-9492-102277ee2f66

This time I'm going to recover the documents, then shutdown and electrically
off the desktop PC.

Two half days running - only one ultra 4K monitor, one document text and one
spreadsheet open, 1GB of 4GB RAM used by soffice.bin.

One crash - UUID d9e250db-f50b-4a01-893f-ef73bcf18bac 

Both documents are heavy with graphics, lines, areas of varying transparency. 
After saving the text document, reselecting the Calc window, Calc was blank,
white.  This can happen while waiting for Autosave, so I waited.  However,
neither application came back.  Task Manager showed 1% processor load, about
1.5GB of RAM involved.  By terminating the LO soffice.bin it was possible to
resume use of the LUbuntu.   However, I chose restart.   Open GL was disabled
and is still disabled.  After restart the crash report was offered.

With Open GL enabled, similar events were about once per hour.
With Open GL disabled, it seems about once per day.

That's quite alright and, as always, Libre Office is marvellous!

You need to open it via View > Toolbars, or you use the icon, which has a
little triangle, and belongs to the command .uno:AdvancedMode. In former
versions the toolbar was titled "Mode".

No, the "interactive gradient" tool does not exists in the sidebar. Read bug
119235 about this tool.

Also using attached test file under Ubuntu 18.04, LibreOffice 6.0 opened the
file no problem, 6.1 and 6.2 do not. (nor do the later versions display the
form file in that file before the connection)

As commented before, the sequence of Cut, Copy, Paste is quasi-standard. But
all guidelines state to have the most frequently used function in the context
on top - and that makes Cut not the first item. If there is no clear function
we could use Undo/Redo.

So please keep the sequence as it is but always have the context depending most
frequently used function(s) on top.

Without any user data I cannot say how often personas are used. So a) is not a
good solution. And c) sounds like a lot of work, similar to b) but we would
gain full control over the persona configuration. Plus, this approach
strengthens the extensions and allows the design team to make things fancy. My
take is b).

There seems to be some agreement, though I'm afraid of this enhancement as
users may want a more options for the comparison. And that is definitely better
done per extension.

However, the basic option makes sense. And likewise at the Open or Save As
dialogs we could have a checkbox there "[x] Include formattings in comparison"
(mind the positive wording and the checked state).

PS: 

I tested the function with DT+F3 (summy text) -> formatting to some words ->
save as untitled 1; New -> DT+F3 -> Edit > Track Changes > Compare Document...
and literally nothing happened. If there is no difference we should pop-up an
info box, otherwise the differences have to be clear.

Thanks for the feedback. I would not make such a big change like move cut,
copy, past in the 3rd place in addition as mso had it also on top, but I like
the discussion about this topic and hope to make something like in bug 119707

Indeed because looking at the comments in
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/07/12/upcoming-changes-for-themes/,
nothing is indicated about a new API.

IMHO, if Mozilla doesn't provide any API quickly (in some weeks and not some
years), solution a) (remove the feature) should be considered seriously

It's definitely not a intuitive behavior.

attached you see how it will look when you have it in the context menu. But
there is another issue. this item is shown not only when you are in an section
area. but that can be fixed.

In general I don't think it's good UX that you can't switch to another section
by mouse.

Hi the issue is that add the context menu entries from writer to calc (cell.xml

So there are two options from my point of view:

1. make the editHyperlink, ... actions working in calc
2. use clear direct formating

I prefer option 1 cause RemoveHyperlink and some other commands are ONLY
available in context menu (which is fine) and option 2 is always possible.

So if someone fix the coding part, I'll add the Hyperlink stuff from writer.

.uno:ExportAsGraphic has to be added to oleobject.xml in writer BUT it wasn't
shown in the context menu. So there is some code work needed to show this
command.

* The issue seems to be elusive (comment 2)
  + If it is a regression (comment 1) we should fix the bug.
* Shortcuts are rare and we need combinations - or don't have shortcuts for
many functions.
  + Adding comments is an important function but only for documents in review.
* The current shortcut is well-known for LibreOffice users and changing it to
something similar (Ctrl+Alt+ C -> M) is wrong for more users than solving an
issue for some.

>From the UX POV I recommend to not change the shortcut and solve the bug, if
there one. Up to QA now.

Steps to reproduce: 

On the Mac, (Libreoffice dmg, downloaded latest as of the day):
1. Create a new Draw document.
2. Add a shape from the shapes gallery, for instance, a person shape.
3. Save the file 

Then, copy the file to the Linux machine. (Arch Linux Libreoffice 6.1.0.3)
On the Linux machine:
1. Open the file

Some of the shapes are lost. For instance, person shapes. Instead, placeholders
with text mentioning MacOs style location of the shape:
file:///Applications/LibreOffice.app/...

But some shapes (some smileys) are preserved. 

Will add a screenshot when I have access to the Mac.

I keep getting these error messages on different machines running all kind of
libreoffice versions.

from 5.4 to 6.0.5.2 and I am pretty sure it will come up with any version as
this security check is part of the current source code.

I do understand that is an intentional message and that the library that
provides the looked for functions kind of expects subminor version 26 but sees
subminor version 25.

But this kind of error prevents the saving of any files and there is no
information what causes it and how to solve the situation. Your average user is
going to give up. I would suggest that you open a dialog explaining why the
application has to shut down and what to do about that, especially what kind of
library you are looking for. 

Just stopping the application is not very helpful and the debug message if you
start libreoffice from the command line is not helpful either.

simple. You can't copy and past a sheettab this three actions will be a result
of the cell you have selected so it's the same result than right click on the
cell which mean also paste special items should be shown.

Description:
In Writer, the text boxes with "To Page" anchor disappear if the text direction
in page format is set to "right-to-left"

I use Libreoffice Version 6.0.3.2 Kubuntu 18.04.



Steps to Reproduce:
1- Enable "Complex text layout" from language settings. (in my case it is
Arabic Jordan).
2- Create new text box and put some text in it.
3- Set the anchor of the text box to "To Page".
4- In Format>Page>Page. Set the "Text direction" to "Right-to-Left".
5- The text box will disappear.

Actual Results:
The text box will disappear.

Expected Results:
Text box should remain.


Reproducible: Always

I synced the layout between the two context menues. Insert stuff isn't needed
in pagebreak but define print stuff is needed.

problem keeps popping up with various releases and I think based on the code in
https://github.com/lsh123/xmlsec/blob/master/src/xmlsec.c
that generates the message that this is an installation problem.

Nertheless it has grave consequences for the user and it should be handled
during start time as libreoffice will close upon any attempt to write a file
(reading will work) and it closes without any message for those that did not
start libreoffice via a shell or a command window in Windows.

Those starting libreoffice in a terminal get the above message, which is
pointer in the right direction but does not really help solving the problem.
If the libxml library is required for saving anything, the presence of the
right library should be checked during startup and a remedy should be
suggested.

The simple remedy is to reinstall libreoffice including all depending packages,
but that usually breaks some other installation (software) that introduced the
problem. If the library is that important it should be included in the
installation at least as a fall back (if checking the library in the path will
lead to the error message explained, the program should try to recover and use
the one in the installation directory and if everything fails it should print
out a comprehensive error message).

Usually we use bugzilla only for user-visible bugs. :-)

Anyway, chart2/source/view/charttypes/BarChart.cxx is in Library_chartcore, but
chart2/Library_chartcore.mk (its gb_Library_set_include) section already
includes the correct include directories.

The root of your problem is that gbuild in general has no idea about what flags
to use to "compile" headers; the assumed filename is set in
chart2/IwyuFilter_chart2.yaml, but that one is only able to handle headers
which are available for all char2 translation units, i.e. chart2/inc/* and
chart2/source/inc/*.

So the bug is confirmed, but I would consider it a low priority: I wish our
largest problem at the moment would be those "internal" headers, given that all
of include/* and foo/inc/* would be already IWYU-clean. ;-)

mdb files not loading to base
which tells me, many users seem to have that problems that points to LO 6.1

Well, by removing personal data from my database I will try to send you the
troubleshome file.

BTW I have always been working on a second base file which surprisingly does
not have a problem with the update from LO 6.0.4 to 6.1

If I remember fine, it was implemented by Samuel years ago, but was reverted.

Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 0b06762ff19a804d3b86167ae3012811662412f1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.6; UI render: default; 
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: threaded

1) I renamed the provided test file to the file name in comment 2.

2) Opened the file in LibreOfficeDev with a right mouse button click.

3) The file loaded successfully, but the file name as shown in the main app
window was renamed automatically to replace the forward slashes by colons ":".

4) Made a change to a cell, Cmd-S, saved the change, then closed the Calc
sheet.

5) Shut down LibreOfficeDev.

In the Finder, the file retains the correct file name.

Seems like this is WORKSFORME, at least in master.

There is no "Transformation" toolbar and if you switch the "Fill" style to
"Gradient" you get the customization you want at the sidebar.

Of course, there is a lot of room for improvements and at best you add a
screenshot what in particular you have in mind.

The actual order is: "Text body", "Title", "Subtitle", "Heading 1", "Heading
2", "Heading 3", "Quotations" followed by "Preformatted Text". Text body on top
makes sense but why do we have the obscure Preformatted style in the menu at
all?

I don't see a good reason to have access to special characters in the context
menu. It would be necessary if you leave the edit mode by clicking the toolbar
but this doesn't happen.

The Use Only Paper Size was not ticked in the print dialog options. But it
still will not print correctly. It still shows letter size being 8 in. x 10 in.
And it prints as if that is the paper size even though it's really 8.5 in. x 11
in.

Checked with version 6.1.0 (64 bit Win 10).

Behaviour at step 6 of initial report is now OK. The bug of step 8 still
exists. During a slide show both click and Ctrl-click still open the hyperlink.

In bug 119703 I described this bug together with other issues. If that bug is
confirmed, this bug can be marked as a duplicate.
