[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114437] Text with Consolas font is cropped on print preview / PDF (unless cell height and width increased)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114437 --- Comment #12 from Ferry Toth --- @Timur The problem is not caused by font substitution, is so I would just apply another font that doesn't get substituted. The problem is caused because looking at the spreadsheet on screen gives a different text width then when doing a print / print preview / safe as pdf. And because we have automatic text reflow on, the non fitting text flow to the next line. But the row height is not adjusted. It's a bit nonsensical to ask for a sample spreadsheet. My platform will not have the same text width calculation as yours. I know this because I have Linux, my colleagues have Windows, we all see the same effects but not necessarily in the same cell. And anyway it's very easy to reproduce. But just to humor you, I have an example of the opposite too: on screen the row with 'm m m m ..' is wrapped, but in the print preview that is not needed causing an unneeded empty row. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Oh, I see. The reason for that problem is, that the shape has the color filling "background", which means, that the shape uses the same color as the background of the slide. So the color of the shape is linked to the color of the slide. That is different from "transparent". The problem is, that LibreOffice does not have a similar setting for background color and ODF has no attribute to store this information. In current PowerPoint it is "slide background fill" in the UI. If you open such pptx file in LibreOffice, the color is set to "white", which is wrong too, but it is here not visible, because the slide background is white. The statement "works from PPTX" is wrong. In the attached pptx file, the slide background is orange and the rectangle has the setting "slide background fill". https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121404 --- Comment #8 from Timur --- Thank you. Steps are as described. But I cannot reproduce. It shouldn't be about Spanish language, I tried. I didn't try with Spanish UI. Unfortunately in this situation it's up to you to discover why this happens. Guessing, you might have a number of custom autocorrects added to already large number of default autocorrects for your language. Usual advice is to reset user profile, but in your case since you seem to be advanced user that would lead to customization loss. You still may save your "user" folder from %APPDATA%\libreoffice\4\user and test and than delete new "user" folder and copy back your own. Please see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile. Can you also test with master 6.3+ from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86_64@42/current/? It will be separate to your working LO. I > tried sshying from Ubuntu 16.04 to Feodra 29 and also got a menubar, so I > can't reproduce this. Is this still a problem ? Still happens for me. My bet is still on KDE5 on the local machine. And it also still happens when starting LO master with gtk3 in my local Ubuntu 18.04 chroot which is a Debian Buster running KDE5. The chroot is managed by schroot / sbuild and created via: - sbuild-createchroot bionic /srv/chroots/bionic-amd64-lobuild http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu - set the profile in the config to desktop - schroot -c bionic-amd64-lobuild -u root - edit /etc/apt/source.list to add universe and copy a deb-src - apt build-dep libreoffice - apt install libnss-sss That setup is sufficient for me to build and run a local LO in it. Everything is fine if I start the build LO in Debian. FWIW gtk3 now crashes for me on startup when I ssh into my remote chroot. But since the console output starts with "Corrupted shared library list: 0x302e70 != 0x2f87c0", I won't trust anything from a gdb's output. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38171] During Install Ask if Install "in Parallel" or "Upgrade"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38171 --- Comment #33 from Christian Lehmann --- On Ubuntu 16.04, I had LO 6.1.3.2 installed and now installed LO 6.1.4.2 (../deb.tar.gz). Without any feedback, the installer installed the new version in parallel, though in a completely different directory: LO 6.1.3 was/is in /usr/lib; LO 6.1.4 is in /opt. Both the installer's decision to do a parallel installation and the choice of the different main directories are anything but self-explanatory for the user. There are situations where the user wants two parallel versions of LO, and there are other situations where he doesn't. The LO installer should check if an older version is already installed, warn the user accordingly and leave the decision concerning parallel installation or update/upgrade to him. At this point, there should be an associated help item telling the user about the advantages and disadvantages of either solution. One problem that I experienced is the following: The Unity launcher gets completely confused if two versions of the same software are being used. If the user decides to update/upgrade, it would be a service to him if the installer could first uninstall the previous version, preserving, however, the user's personal settings (s. bug 122205). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
