[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142172] LO colors theme: dark mode: use darker document background color

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142172

We have a contrast ratio of 12.63:1, which is above the recommended minimum of
4.5:1. Breeze Dark, the default on Linux/KDE [1], is #31363B (we use #33)
with 12.19:1- almost the same. MacOS uses also some grey color not sure what
exactly [2].

High contrast is good for accessibility but not always appealing. Contemporary
design goes actually the opposite way and lowers the contrast as much as
possible- also not a good idea.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67302] TablesSupplier name clash when dots in schema/table name

--- Comment #17 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
(In reply to Matt K from comment #16)
> Can you please provide an example of how to exhibit this bug by using the

I'm not sure it can be exposed in the UI per se.

But if one creates a schema with a "." in the name, and a table with a "." in
the name, to trigger the name clash, possibly/probably bugs will start to
appear in the UI, in the form of one being used when one means the other.

To trigger the name clash, e.g.:
 - create two schemas "a" and "a.b"
 - in schema "a", create table "b.c"
 - in schema "a.b", create table "c"
Make the two tables different, at least different data if not different
structure.

Then try to open one, the other, LibreOffice may be confused between the two,
not sure.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I suspected the report to be of limited use because I
couldn't reproduce the crash.

Spellchecker.lu is a spellchecker extension for the luxembourgish language, you
can download it at www.spellchecker.lu.

At the time actually 2 crashes occurred but I was asked to report only the
second, which is linked in my previous post. The first crash seems to be caused
by my printer driver (CANON).

STACK_TEXT:
` ` heap_corruption!CNMUIBL.DLL+0x0

I'm fine with the report being closed.

Good day to you, bye.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Extract the *.zip-file. Contains a Calcfile, a Basefile and two Writerfiles for
testing.

This buggy behavior could be seen under OpenSUSE 15.2 64bit rpm Linux with LO
7.1.3.2. It doesn't appear with LO 7.0.5.2 on the same machine with the same
userprofile.

Download the attached package.
Extract the *.zip-file.
Set "Mailmerge.odb" as database (Tools → Options → LibreOffice Base →
Databases)
Open the document "Mailmerge_with_pagebreak.odt".
Hope it gets the database contact …
Start printing a form letter.
Choose File → Save as individual documents.
Press "OK".
Printing stops here while creating the second form letter.

Stop the printing.
Open the document "Mailmerge_without_pagebreak.odt".
Print it the same way. Will run without any problem.

Only difference between the two documents is the pagebreak.

Oh of course this is wrong on any platform, and may work on *nix just by
chance, and not always. The proper way would be *converting* a system path to
URL, e.g. using osl::FileBase::getFileURLFromSystemPath.

You can't insert them anymore as the feature was removed. The idea for this
task was to implement some kind of compatibility feature for old documents.
However, as this task is 8 years old and there does not appear to be an actual
practical demand, I wonder if we should just drop this.

--- Comment #7 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
(In reply to Matt K from comment #6)
> Can you specify how to create these ODBC connections

Create an ODBC data source (OS specific; windows: launch ODBC administrator;
GNU/Linux: edit ~/.odbc.ini or use some GUI tool to do that)

launch:
libreoffice --base
(or from a running LibreOffice, menu file / new / database)

connect to an existing database
choose "ODBC" in the drop-down box
next

enter a valid ODBC data source configured on the system

next, etc

> and how to view/create the bookmarks?

They are not exposed in the UI; they are a feature of the programming API.
Insofar as LibreOffice code itself uses ODBC bookmarks, this would also cause
gui-user-visible bugs when operating on an ODBC source that makes bookmarks
longer than 20 bytes.

open a result set (programmatically execute a query returning results)
stick in a variable, named e.g. rs

then something like:

rs.next()
rs.getBookmark()

It looks like the report is corrupted on saving or loading :-(

edit the report "Bug62248"
menu view / Sorting and Grouping
second line, column "Field/Expression", INT_INT_count_Number" to "Number"
with that second line selected, change properties:
 Group On: Interval
 Group Interval: 5
close "sorting and grouping" dialog
in toolbar, click "execute report" button
compare the result with "Bug62248_should_be". They are different. They should
be the same.

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142281

Bug ID: 142281
Summary: full global office central document with all office
module documents as parts
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: paulyste...@web.de

enhancement:
full global office central document with all office documents as parts

The global document ODM is only for writer documents. So it is limited to
writer.

A new central document is linkable to all LO-Documents with base, calc, draw,
impress, math, writer, HTML, XML, visit cards, etiquettes.

All Documents are in one container or folder with the central document.

So a project is simply portable without new linkage by the new needed path in
the normal way of work.

So LibreOffice can take more advantage of modules.

Microsoft Office Dokument and Chinese office format UOTS are milestones on way
to real global office documents.

@Buovjaga,
In the need for someone with good eye catching something within big list of
bibisect-43all commits

Would call the 'borderline commit' of M. Stahl suspicious (paint code). And
well the selection rectangle is a 'border' in some sense

Obviously also in need for conformation :-). But well seen this on Windows &
Linux (and MacOS). So pretty convinced it's present.

Step 6: (retry) or wait few moments after scroll before clicking

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142282] New: Text Background fill color (Highlighting) bucket (short-cut-icon) always reverts to yellow after some time

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142282

Bug ID: 142282
Summary: Text Background fill color (Highlighting) bucket
(short-cut-icon) always reverts to yellow after some
time
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: judi...@outlook.de

Description:
The fact that the highlight colour is automatically changing to yellow after
some time is unpractical.
It would be more user-friendly if the selector would stay on the last used
highlight colour.

see also
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/184903/background-fill-color-bucket-always-reverts-to-yellow/

Or even better give the user a setting choice:

a) revert to yellow after some time
b) stay with last used colour
c) revert to colour x after some time

An automatic function that does, what the user wants, is great.
An automatic function that does, what the user not wants, is ergonomically very
bad.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Chose a text background colour other than yellow, by using the shortcut-icon
2. Highlight some text with it
3. Wait some time

Actual Results:
The highlight colour of the icon changes automatically back to yellow

Expected Results:
The highlight colour should stay the last colour used by the user

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142278] New: No more than 30 bordered colums in a sheet

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142278

Bug ID: 142278
Summary: No more than 30 bordered colums in a sheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: alex.voltu...@gmail.com

Description:
It is not possible to visualize in preview a grid wider than 30 columns.
This happens if you paste times and times a cell with all borders activated or
if you select more than 30 columns (each of them wide at least 0,50 cm),
selecting to draw draw all the borders nd then visualize the page preview.

Up to 30 columns you work fine and this problem doesn't appear, but if it
happens to paste any number of cells more, then what will be visualized (in the
preview of the document) or printed on paper is just a single column,
independently of the number of cells pasted or bordered.

In a previous edition of LibreOffice (version 3 if I remember well) this
limitation was not present.

I've found this limit because I needed to build a grid of squares (0,50cm x
0,50cm) to build a chequered sheet on which draw graphs.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. resize columns size to 0,50cm
2. select more than 30 columns (the 30th columns is labelled AD)
3. Draw all borders
4. Examine the preview of the document

Actual Results:
the result is that exceeding the 30 columns it will be visualized always one
column out of a completely blank sheet.

Expected Results:
What I do expect is no such limitations.
If, for example, I would like build a millimetrated paper sheet in an A4 page
format, I should not be limited other than by the page margin set.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131817] Introduce an option to globally switch toolbar locking on/off

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131817

The biggest irritation is that the locking/unlocking is property of individual
toolbars. Instead, it should be the property of the entire space.

Here's the use case scenario:

In the following scene, "right-click" means anywhere in the toobar area (over
any toolbar or empty space).

1. Right-click and select "unlock". All the toolbars are unlocked at once.
2. Drag and drop the toolbars.
3. Right-click and select "lock".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 137349] Writer : Months and days are lowercase with French locale

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137349

Day and month names of formatted date values depend on the locale, for French
fr-FR those are all lower case, so this is expected.

However, to force capitalization the NatNum12 modifier and rules can be used,
which here would be

  [NatNum12 =capitalize]

and

  [NatNum12 NNN=capitalize]NNN

Note that forced capitalization may be equally wrong in some locales that for
example *always* use lower case names even in such calendar context.

If you want to display the dates in always the same locale then in the number
formatter select a fixed language/locale instead of the default locale.

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137349

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version):

In Writer : Problem with → Format → Text → Shift Every Word
In a table, on multiple cells this command works fine.
After saving and closing the text document when reopening the file the
capitalization is only found on some words (in some cells) or not capitalized
at all.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. from Calc "Paste as nested tables" into Writer
2. In Writer select the cells in the row
3. shift to every word (no problem ...)
4. save / close /
5. open / caps not preserved

"Shift" here seems to mean capitalize (first character of a word).

For any Skia deny list handling we would need to know the driver details for
your Vulkan driver details, not the packaging details.

A utility program like GLview [1] will have the Skia Vulkan API & Driver
details.

If Vulkan does not abort out, the skia.log in the user profile will include the
device and driver details.

For example my daily driver has a nVidia Quadro K2000 (slightly older than your
K620) with the nVidia 461.92 GeForce Drivers (27.21.14.6192 DCH pkg)--but its
Vulkan API compliance is 1.2.155, and its nVidia Vulkan driver version is
461.368.0

The deny list has to work with these internal values.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142293] New: EDATE function problem in a file saved as Excel format

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142293

Bug ID: 142293
Summary: EDATE function problem in a file saved as Excel format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yan...@gmail.com

Description:
If you save the spreadsheet as Excel format while your text language is
Turkish, EDATE function will be converted to a function like
com.sun.star.sheet.addİn.analysİs.getedate.

If EDATE is used as an single formula, it will continue to display the correct
date.

https://i.postimg.cc/3wF3JQ1V/Single.png

But, if EDATE is used in a nested formula, it will give #NAME? error.

https://i.postimg.cc/43gJgx6p/Nested.png

(My surmise : Something in LibreOffice text language engines, makes some faults
when converting cases to upper or lower?!)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc.
2. Select text language as Turkish from the lowest bar.
3. Make a formula that used EDATE function in it.
4. Save the file as Excel format.
5. Close file and reopen it.

Actual Results:
EDATE turns into com.sun.star.sheet.addİn.analysİs.getedate.

Expected Results:
EDATE should be stay as EDATE.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Can you explain how to create the schema, is it done through an outside

and the data stays separate between the tables.

Interesting. I confirm that Calc doesn't show anything in Print Preview if you
just create borders for cells (without any data in cells). It shows just "No
data".

MS Excel shows all pages with borders in its Print Preview

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70710] [WMF] FILEOPEN Filled areas are not filled for WMF images

2021-05-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70710

Original file is a WMF with 6 ESCAPE records at the start of the file.
Those ESCAPE records embed EMF content into WMF.
The EMF itself has bunch of EMF+ records and according to the EmfPlusHeader in
the first of them it's supposed to be "EMF/EMF+ dual" file, hence content
should be the same in EMF and EMF+ records.

For the analysis the following files were created from original (#0) file:
- #1 "pure WMF" with all ESCAPE records removed
- #2 EMF/EMF+ extracted from ESCAPE records
- #3 "pure EMF" with EMF+ records removed from #2
- #4 WMF with ESCAPE records only

Observed behavior of MS Paint and PowerPoint (mac):
#0 -- all colors are presented
#1 -- all colors are presented
#2 -- all colors are missed
#3 -- all colors are presented
#4 -- empty picture

Conclusions part A:
- there is something wrong with EMF+ part inside of EMF inside of WMF
- MS Paint and PowerPoint (mac) ignore EMF/EMF+ part of the WMF file (no
rendering of "ESCAPE only" #4 file, no problem with original #0 file)

Observed behavior of LO 7.2 master (May 11, 2021):
#0 -- all colors are missed
#1 -- all colors are presented
#2 -- all colors are missed
#3 -- all colors are presented except those at the bottom
#4 -- all colors are missed

Conclusions part B:
- LO tries to use (presumably superior) EMF and (presumably superior) EMF+ in
it, which leads to missing colors in #0, #2 and drawing colorless image in #4
- there is another unidentified bug that prevents LO from rendering some colors
for #3 ("pure EMF") file

Suggestions:
- validate behavior with those files in other MS implementations (MSO on win
etc)
- change LO to ignore EMF/EMF+ in WMF files
- investigate the smaller problem with #3
