[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 147950] FILESAVE: looses bolded crossed out effect attribute of words when file is saved
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147950 --- Comment #2 from Dieter --- Initial report from bug 147949 (also from Bernard Guliet) Created attachment 178849 [details] Illustration of Writer Filesave loosing bold words attributes BUG : LIBRE OFFICE WRITER March 12th, 2022 Bug Description Line : FILESAVE : Writer looses bolded crossed out effect attribute of words when file is saved. My environment : Windows 10 (x64) running on a PC ASUSTek AS M32BF_K30BF. LibreOffice Version 7.3.1.3 (x64) / LibreOffice Community. Symptom : within Writer, a word with a bolded crossed out effect, looses its attribute when the text is saved as a file onto disk and therafter this file is reopened. That happens whichever file format is used, Word 97-2003 (*.doc) or Word 2007-365 (*.docx). Consider the following list as an example, Example : January February March April May June July ... and save it into a file on disc. as .doc or .docx format. Now, mark certain words of this list (e.g. February, April, June) with a selection in the Format menu as follows, → Character → Character effect → Character decoration → Crossed out → Bold (*). The list (should) appear now as follows : Example : January Februaryit should appear as Bolded, but it has lost its attribute, March as it has been saved and reopened for mailing it to Bugzilla. April " " " May June " " " July ... Then save the file with this example of bolded crossed out words, exit Writer, and then reopen it. Now it appears as follows, "bolded crossed out" words have turned into "simple crossed out" !!! Example : January Februaryit should appear as bolded crossed out here, after file reopen !!! March April " " " May June " " " July … (*) NOTE : As I uses a french version of Libre Office, Menu Words may differ ... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Add Comment Collapse All Comments Expand All Comments -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148198 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |NOTABUG Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #2 from Mike Kaganski --- Or, rather, *if* I post the *exact* steps to repro, it is not a bug. 0. Make sure that in Options/Writer/Comparison, "Random number ... - [x] Store it when changing the document" is *checked*. 1. Create a hyperlink (using Ctrl+K "Insert->Hyperlink" dialog). 2. Save the document *and reload it*. 3. Edit the text of the hyperlink by typing inside the text in Writer's main window (not thorough the dialog). => At this stage the macros show three links. 4. Save and reload => At this stage, Navigator also shows three links. The reason is that the random number (checked at step 0, and used to make document comparison more robust and useful) creates a new property in the inserted text run, which makes the previously single text run with hyperlink three new runs - first without the random number, then second with the random number, then the third without. Every separate text run is an own hyperlink (from the code point of view). Possible bug is that Navigator is not updated after step 3 properly. Possible enhancement would be to use nested text runs, instead of non-nesting, side-by-side runs as created now. (In reply to Jordi from comment #0) > Version 3 of LO doesnt have this issue, it was introduced in v4 It was introduced in https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/062eaeffe7cb986255063bb9b0a5f3fb3fc8e34c in 2011 (for version 3.6); then it was made optional in version 5.0 [1]. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145160 Jérôme changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|enhancement |normal --- Comment #11 from Jérôme --- In most cases, if you convert a jpeg image into a png image, you will inflate the image file size. In a many cases the image file size will inflate if you convert a png image into a jpeg with a suitable quality, especially if the lossless image uses "artificial" colours (screenshot, ...). https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148210 Bug ID: 148210 Summary: Adding drawing object line to a chart in CALC makes chart size erratic Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.5.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: spamtr...@appce.com Description: Adding a drawing object (a vertical line) to a chart in CALC changes the aspect ratio of the chart after the file is closed and reopened. Removing the drawing object restores the chart size. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a simple column chart. 2. In chart edit mode, use the drawing toolbar to place a vertical line across the chart. 3. Exit chart editing mode (all is well). 4. Save and close the ODS file, then reopen it (the chart Y dimension has shrunk, but the vertical line is present and of the correct size). 5. Double click the chart to enter edit mode (makes the chart full size again). 6. Exit chart edit mode (the chart shrinks, but the line does not). 7. Edit the chart and delete the line. 8. Exit chart edit mode(the chart keeps the correct size). Actual Results: When the line is present the chart aspect ratio changes (Y becomes smaller). Removing the line removes the problem. Expected Results: The presence of the line should not affect the aspect ratio of the chart. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: This was not a problem until I updated to version 7.2.5.2 The problem still exists after opening LibreOffice in Safe Mode. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148209] Font box size is different from Windows compared to Linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148209 --- Comment #4 from Yeron 50201 --- 1. I hope to help in some way to improve LibreOffice. 2. My aim is not to criticize LibreOffice. 3. I think LibreOffice is amazing software, so much so that most of the things I create with LibreOffice, which are documents, spreadsheets and other things. 4. I open this issue, to talk about a possible error or "design pattern" difference that you would normally expect - for example, a font box with the same size. I noticed this difference when changing the operating system, I have a dualboot with Linux Ubuntu and Windows. I saw the design difference of LibreOffice on Ubuntu compared to LibreOffice on Windows 10, this issue speaks of that. 5. There may be people who use LibreOffice with Windows 10 who find it ugly to have a giant font list which is something that doesn't happen in Ubuntu with LibreOffice. Maybe this issue if resolved can help these people. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
