https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151205 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WONTFIX Blocks||145878 Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #10 from Heiko Tietze --- We discussed the topic briefly in the design meeting. What I understand is that you copy a range like A1:A5 and paste it onto the same range at B1:B5 with the expectation to either use the minimum or maximum of both. Use case is to find the minimum temperature or the highest value of a blood pressure. The terms Min/Max are a bit misleading since it is an attribute of a distribution. You rather ask for Lower/Higher, which would be unclear in itself too. Putting all comments together the concerns about too many operations predominate and the recommendation is to implement the feature via extension. Although I'm closing the ticket as WF please feel free to reopen. As a open source project any volunteer is free to submit patches - and I guess it would be accepted despite the concerns from the UX POV. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151503] New: logical operator semantics on missing (optional) arguments has changed between 7.2 and 7.4
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151503 Bug ID: 151503 Summary: logical operator semantics on missing (optional) arguments has changed between 7.2 and 7.4 Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: BASIC Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lio...@mamane.lu Description: Consider the following code: sub tst tstOpt end sub sub tstOpt(optional foo as boolean) if ismissing(foo) or foo then msgbox "yes" else msgbox "no" end if end sub In LibreOffice 7.2, calling sub tst (and thus calling tstOpt without its optional argument) would print "yes". I'm not sure whether a missing parameter was coerced to true by the "or" operator, or if the "or" operator was evaluating its arguments lazily left to right, or both. In LibreOffice 7.4, this gives an error "Argument is not Optional". This breaks user code. Compare with: sub tstOpt2(optional foo as boolean) if foo then msgbox "yes" else msgbox "no" end if end sub Which shows "yes" in both LibO 7.2 and LibO 7.4, showing that the if/then construct does coerce a missing parameter to true. The same happens with "and" and "not" operators. Probably the logical operators and/not/or/... should continue to do the same for backwards compatibility and coherence? Steps to Reproduce: run sub tst Actual Results: error "Argument is not Optional" Expected Results: messagebox showing "Yes" Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.4.1.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 3c58a8f3a960df8bc8fd77b461821e42c061c5f0 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: fr-LU (fr_LU.UTF-8); UI: en-GB Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

They sit together, the page at the top and the style navigator below, in one column. As I work through the document, the style navigator bar moves progressively down the page. When I want to check a style, I have to use the mouse to move it back up to near the top of the column to be able to select a style. As I write reports (long documents) I am constantly checking and changing styles, so this has to be done multiple times per document. If I have one sidebar open it is not a problem, but I need the page one as well to navigate quickly through documents. Is there any way sidebar components could be locked in place so they stay in the same place for the document (or at least an option to switch this on and off as required) if more than one sidebar component is open simultaneously. While the current workflow allows to create a special category, the Gallery management is in general very inconvenient and needs improvement. The concept of favorites is widely used and could be established in parallel. This should not block improvements to the Gallery management. The "Favorites" (virtual) category would be shown on top of the list, perhaps separated via horizontal ruler. Copying items here would be possible per context menu on any item in the Gallery. Users cannot rename/delete the Favorites category neither manage it. Manually creating a category with the same name would end up in "Favorites 1" (as we have today). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151170] Need mechanism for re-centering "Slides pane" onto current slide with edit focus
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151170 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added CC|libreoffice-ux-advise@lists |heiko.tietze@documentfounda |.freedesktop.org|tion.org Keywords|needsUXEval | --- Comment #18 from Heiko Tietze --- We discussed the topic in the design meeting. Usually there are some indicators of the currently active slide. First of all, the thumbnail is highlighted but we also show the "Page n of m" information in the left-most panel of the statusbar. The proposed UNO command extends the UNO API unnecessarily, and pressing some key combinations would be quite unusual anyway. Adding a button to the slide panel, for example next to the close button (x), has an acceptable low impact on the UI. But the issue actually happens when the slide loses focus, eg. by clicking white space in the slide sorter. Then both information are gone (the slide pane highlighting is still okay on Windows and Linux/kf5 with a clear blue frame). So what we should do is to a) always show the statusbar information what slide is active, and b) have no white space in the slide panel. Recommendation is to change the summary into "Keep active slide in focus". (Leaving status unconfirmed for the current "re-center the list" request that is rather WF.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151507] Themed color palette
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151507 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Blocks||107380 --- Comment #1 from V Stuart Foote --- I've no great objection, so long as the current Standard color theme remains the base cross module. Minor concern with using sets of "Named" color themes (of 12 fixed colors-DK1, LT1, DK2, LT2, ACCENT1, ACCENT2, ACCENT3, ACCENT4, ACCENT5, ACCENT6, HLINK, FOLHLINK) is the general lack of applied color theory for the themes--no logic or functional design in the sets of color that get chosen to go into a theme--either what we'd provide as new "Named" color themes, or what gets passed in and mapped from os/DE. Current Standard, Tonal and freecolour-hlc palettes are formula generated color sets--reproducible and suitable in any part of the UI. Overall not too much of an issue as all colors are either HEX RGB, or decimal equivs of the RGB. And get recorded to ODF as hex RGB. If we extend ODF with a fixed set of color labels (assume that is going to be needed) then I guess the "Theme" can be embedded into the documents--and we'd want to handle it consistent to OOXML's encoding (if any) for better interoperability. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151489 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #1 from V Stuart Foote --- Created attachment 183016 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=183016=edit two paragraphs of Text Body with page style "register true" 'Activate page line-spacing' This is correct 'register true' behavior. The "reference" paragraph style is asserted on the page style (replacing the page's paragraph spacing if any set). That reference is carried across all pages of the same style. And when a paragraph is set 'register true' via the Paragraph dialog's 'Indents & Spacing' tab 'Activate page line-spacing' checkbox -- the *line spacing* from the "reference" paragraph is used. The 'register true' vertical spacing "grid" is calculated against the font metric, internal leading, and external leading defined in the paragraph style used as the "reference". It is available for use on all pages of the same style, and will assert for each paragraph on that page with the 'Activate page line-spacing' is activated. The attached Flat ODF has two DT paragraphs in 'Text Body' defaults, with a 'register true' reference set for Page style in a new Paragraph style "TwoLineSpaceRef" with 200% double line height drawing font metrics from Libertinus Sans font. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144933] Table changes from automatic alignment to 'from left' with relative unchecked when dragging the border of a merged cell

Open Writer 2. Insert a 3x3 table 3. Merge the middle column 4. Table --> Properties --> Table tab -> Notice alignment automatic 5. Drag the border (left or right from merged cell inside) 6. Table --> Properties --> Table tab --> alignment changed I probably should open a new report for this; but some conformation in advance would be nice -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149853] Impress Screensaver Activates During RDP Even With User Input
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149853 --- Comment #4 from Mike Kaganski --- Note that Impress is expected to disable screen saver / sleep mode when slideshow is run, as noted in bug 92875. Turns out, this is done in SalFrame::StartPresentation (respective override for a given backend). So I would advise to check which code runs in your case, and try to fix/implement the screen saver inhibitor logic there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
