So the bug really is that the editor does not use the proper main elements
(i.e., the opposite)? Because I doubt that using inconsistent UI is OK.

A workaround for OP could be using gen VCL plugin?

Example file with frame and fields

Attached document contains a frame, a hidden paragraph field and a text field
without value set.

Clicing into the frame and pressing Ctrl-A does not select the frames text but
the documents text. If the text field has a value, then it works correctly and
the frames text is selected (see second attachment).

1. Open attached file
2. Select View - Field Names
3. Click into the frame with lorem ipsum
4. Press Ctrl-A
-> The documents text is selected insted of the lorem ipsum.

Already reproduced following comment 35 steps in:

Version: 6.0.0.3

However, my steps don't give completely consistent results, so I'm not calling
it a regression based on inability to reproduce in earlier versions. More
consistent STR welcome.

Marking as depending on bug 97894 as a fix that covers all bases (startup,
maximising/unmaximising, and manual resizing) should also fix this.

I can actually confirm.

Tested on Ubuntu 20.04 with GNOME 3.36.8 + Wayland with:

Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 53bb9681a964705cf672590721dbc85eb4d0c3a2

I made sure to zoom out a bit so columns A to K were visible.

- With gtk3 VCL, no slowdown (although keeps scrolling for a bit after
releasing the key)
- With kf5 (cairo+xcb) VCL (window is GType:MetaWindowXwayland, so goes through
Xwayland), same slowdown as in video, the interface sometimes unresponsive for
a few seconds after stopping the scroll. The scroll takes the same time to get
to the top, but it's the view that does not refresh frequently, hence the large
jumps.
- With kf5 (cairo+wayland) VCL (window GType:MetaWindowWayland, so Wayland
native), no slowdown.

If you use Wayland, you can see if using native Wayland works better by
launching LibreOffice with extra variables from the command line, for example:

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland libreoffice7.5

Using the Tools > Customize dialog and searching for the command, I can already
see an icon (tested with Elementary icon set), in both 7.6 and 7.5.
It is not displayed in the context menu for some VCLs (e.g. GTK3) but I can see
it used currently with the KF5 VCL (as I understand it, visibility of icons in
the context menu depend on what desktop environment the VCL mainly caters for).

- .uno:InsertIndexesEntry and .uno:IndexEntryDialog have the same icon.
- .uno:EditCurIndex uses that icon with a pencil icon overlaid.

Which VCL do you use?

It was always basically this way. There's no great solution that won't cause a
pitch fork wielding march. But vcl has EnableNativeWidget(false) to turn off
the (older) use system theme for vcl widgets stuff which would make the basic
dialogs look like they do during editing so that is possible to do.

Have tried this with OpenSUSE 15.4 and different LO-Versions:
Created a *.odt-document with a group field and three radio buttons.
Set the value for each button.
Set a default value.
Saved and exported to *.pdf.

Done with LO 7.5.2.2 and also with LO 7.0.5.2.

Opened the *.pdf with Okular (pdf viewer under KDE in Linux).
Chosen an entry of the radio buttons.
Both forms will save the right entry.
Extracted the data with pdftk and both forms will show also the same value -
not '0'.

Might be a pecial Windows/Acrobat-problem. I couldn't test this here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84146] EDITING FIELDS: Variable field with format 'Standard" value not set/shown

2023-04-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84146

Having taken a look at this and been trying: it makes no sense to display text
content with the General or any other number format. Instead, when the input is
not convertible to a number or date+time the Text format should be forced.

Reason is, saving the field to file a text:user-field-decl can be _either_ a
office:value-type="string" text field with a string-value, _or_ an
office:value-type="float" numeric field with value. While text:user-field-get
theoretically could have a number style:data-style-name to a string text field
applied and ignore it (then why even bother having the style), most
implementations presumably would not handle that. Forcing an
office:value-type="string" text field would be clean.

Writer's field handling isn't quite straight forward not to say convoluted..
someone familiar can debug that into existence..
Hints are SwUserFieldType, SwSetExpField and SwFieldVarPage::SubTypeHdl() and
all nsSwGetSetExpType::GSE_STRING handling.

Good luck..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154882] New: New Table Styles in Impress does not save font color in top-left cell

2023-04-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154882

Bug ID: 154882
Summary: New Table Styles in Impress does not save font color
in top-left cell
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rafael.palma.l...@gmail.com

When you apply one of the new table styles to a table in Impress, the header
row will use a dark background color with white font (which is ok).

But then, when you save the file, close and reopen it, you'll find that the
first cell in the table will be black instead of white.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a blank Impress file
2) Insert a 4x4 table
3) Fill in the header row (first row)
4) Apply one of the table styles in the sidebar deck (f.i. the one with dark
orange header). Notice the header font color will be white.
5) Save the file, close and reopen it
6) Notice that the first cell in the first row is now black; the other header
cells are white.

When you apply a table style in Impress, it does not mark the file as dirty (to
indicate that it was modified and needs saving).

Steps to reproduce

1) Create a blank Impress document
2) Create a 4x4 table and fill it in with data.
3) Save the file
4) Apply one of the table styles in the sidebar
5) Notice that the file won't be marked as dirty; if you now try to close the
file, it will close without warning that the file was changed
