Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Help with parallel install
Hi Cor, all Cor Nouws wrote I think it makes sense to ask on the users list if there are people that with recent experiences in this area. I thought the QA list would include more experts in advanced features than the Users list. I guess I was wrong. I will try that. BTW apparently nobody does Windows parallel installs (the instructions in the wiki were wrong and nobody noticed. I already corrected them) In case someone is interested: I tried a parallel install of the latest daily 3.5 (from libreoffice-3-5~2012-01-25_20.47.58_LibO-Dev_3.5.1rc0_Win_x86_install_en-US.msi) and it won't even finish. It stops with the following error message Internal error 2203, path to target .msi-2147287035 -- Pedro -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Help-with-parallel-install-tp3687803p3692924.html Sent from the QA mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ List Name: Libreoffice-qa mailing list Mail address: Libreoffice-qa@lists.freedesktop.org Change settings: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-qa Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/
Re: [Libreoffice-qa] preparing QA talk for FOSDEM

Personally I have the impression / concern that Quality is getting one of the main challenges of LibreOffice as it seems to decrease more and more - and software acceptance to a good deal depends on quality (especially in corporate environments). So anything that /really/ raises quality is good ;-) My own ideas go into the direction of monitoring bug-free usage, e.g. by logging main user actions (module used, opening/closing files, menu path, toolbar icon klicks and so on) into a simple text file. But I really don't know if this is a good subject to talk about at FOSDEM. On no mailing list! Everybody who is interested in Bug confirming knows how to find them in Bugzilla, such mails reach users who are not interested or already have to read lots of lots of mail, they would be kept away from their work. The only exception is if an important bug has not been confirmed for a long time because all testers failed to reproduce the problem. In those cases it can be useful to encourage lots of users to do additional tests, sometimes that helps, someone is lucky and finds the circumstances necessary to reproduce the bug Best regards (and thank you for your busy working) Rainer ___ List Name: Libreoffice-qa mailing list Mail address: Libreoffice-qa@lists.freedesktop.org Change settings: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-qa Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/
