As Pedro explains: there is no serious workaround. Such issues are really hindering people in using LibreOffice - we do not live and work on an island. Of course not every interop issue is serious; luckily many are little differences. But to me, a real life policy is that interop issues are not set to 'minor' by default. But since sending the ODF to someone who is not using LibreOffice will cause even more loss, it is a quite useless workaround. I can understand (and relate to) the logic but this means that LibreOffice users will be proudly alone (a bit like the OpenOffice users, who can't even save to MS XML) In any case the Severity level is just a word. It is irrelevant if the developers don't agree that interoperability is important.
