[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 90490] Providing chart style/color presets

2015-09-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #5 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips ---
(In reply to Bastián Díaz from comment #4)
> Does this only comes to the colors of charts?

The colors of the chart data series is one of the pieces that is hoped to be
covered by this bug enhancement, the others being element layout and element
styles.

> See: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93088

> Please check, and if necessary, mark as duplicate.
> So I can create another report, including color palettes like styles.

I think your bug maybe related to document theming (bug 90497).

As an update to this bug report, I brought up the topic of chart styles in
wednesday's design meeting and discussed it with Heiko and Matthias. I've asked
them to proposed data series color sets and chart element layouts, and others
are welcome to do the same.

My current research on this, as well as chart styles from competing office
suites can be found at the following link.

Agreed. But, conversely, going back to the default default template
(hard-coded?) should be easy as well.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 94349] New: Add italics to Quotations paragraph style

2015-09-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94349

Bug ID: 94349
Summary: Add italics to Quotations paragraph style
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org

The Quotation character style is italics and i felt that the Quotations
paragraph style should also have this for uniformity, so if someone used a
block or inline level quotation style, it would look similar.

So you don't want to zoom the chart but the whole spreadsheet meaning the
existing zoom function should work in chart edit mode as well, right? That
makes sense.

Created attachment 118825
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118825=edit
weird progressive indent of multi-line Heading styles

Yes, unclear why/how we have formatted multi-line Heading with a negative
indent for first line. Also, there is some weird juxtaposition in editengine in
that the successive HEADING levels increase the base line of the indent. That
doesn't seem correct either.

However, checked LO 3.3.0, 3.4.6, 4.0.6.2, this formatting of multi-line
Headings has been with LO from the start, setting Inherited from OOo

Would probably be simplest to remove the negative first line indent (if we can
locate where that is assigned), but we will need to test extensively as it
could cause problems elsewhere in Navigator, numbered/bulleted, content, and
index styles.

Change summary:

Previous title: Add function to embed custom color list as a style

New title: Add easy way to attach a colour palette in to document

The focus of the report is changed to prevent confusion with the new proposed
functionalitydocument themes.
The aim of this report is able to easily add a custom color palette in the
document.

Cheers

The Slide Pane "sorter", and corresponding Page Pane "sorter" views in Impress
and Draw share the same code. It is not clear that it can be implemented for
Writer in similar fashion because while drawings and slide tend to be atomic,
writer documents flow from paragraph to paragraph, and pages become containers
for the formatted text, tables and image frames.

None the less agree it would be a useful UI widget, just not active by default.

As always, implementing would depend on a dev interested in coding it.

@Yan, we don't care about Microsoft's Word UI, just if it makes sense in our
UI.
