[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 94770] New: Add 'More...' to toolbar object fill drop down menu
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94770 Bug ID: 94770 Summary: Add 'More...' to toolbar object fill drop down menu Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: ux-advise Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org Blocks: 94722 The 'Area Style / Filling' control in the Drawing Object Properties toolbar has a drop down menu to select the type of fill and secondary drop down menu for gradient, hatching, and bitmap presets, but there isnt a means to link into the dialog to have more customization. So i'd like to suggest we have a 'More...' entry into fill type drop down menu that links to the Area tab of the Area dialog. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 94754] New: Have submenu for split buttons when in toolbar chevron submenu
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94754 Bug ID: 94754 Summary: Have submenu for split buttons when in toolbar chevron submenu Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org Created attachment 119264 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=119264=edit screenshot When a toolbar's contents are larger than the available screen space, the toolbar shows a chevron (») button which is clickable to show a context menu for the hidden buttons. This works well with simple buttons, but doesnt work well with split buttons which have additional buttons that are accessible through them. So it would be beneficial to convert a split button into a submenu, so that the additional buttons are still accessible. Heiko had suggested this in bug 90090 comment 37 and i think it is a good solution for split buttons that open up toolbar with buttons. The screenshot shows how the 'basic shapes' split button looks in and outside of the chevron submenu. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise
[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 94760] New: Better default values for graphics cache
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94760 Bug ID: 94760 Summary: Better default values for graphics cache Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: ux-advise Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org, michael.me...@collabora.com I remember reading many years ago that changing the undo and graphics cache settings under Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Memory would improve the performance and recently a user who was experiencing sluggish performance with calc ( http://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/05/libreoffice-5-0-is-available/#comment-3627714 ) solved this problem by changing the graphics cache settings. So i'm wondering whether we should change these defaults to something more useful so that users dont have to change them, also we did remove the limit of the graphics cache to 256MB in LO 4.4. Graphics Cache Use for LibreOffice : 20 MB Memory per object : 5.2 MB Remove from memory : 10 Min Different webpages recommendation of changing the value :- 128 MB & 20 MB - https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LibreOffice#Speed_up_LibreOffice 100 MB - https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/93/images-slow-down-performace/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise
[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 94042] Improving autorecovery/autosave
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94042 --- Comment #7 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips--- I've put in a patch which i hope is enough to change the autorecovery to 10 minutes. https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/19136 Regarding Patrick's comment, his suggestion is that he wants an autosave option so that he doesnt have to press Ctrl+S often to save his work. I have set a similar option in gedit ( Edit > Preferences > Editor > File Saving > Autosave files every X minutes ). This suggestion is different from my suggestion of keeping the last autorecovered version of a file incase a user wants to recover data he dismissed at closing time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise
