I agree with Tor.
let's see what the UX-team thinks about.
if approved this should be an easy hack.

Thanks Stuart, I missed untill now how to get to various sub panels, but see
that the / or / work if the focus is on the label. Nice.

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with
Version: 5.0.3.1 (x64)
Build ID: fd8cfc22f7f58033351fcb8a83b92acbadb0749e
Locale: en-US (en_US)

++ or are defined and show in the Tools -> Customize:
Keyboard tab as assigned for Writer--they are not assigned globally. So they
can already be reassigned if needed when conflicting with OS or DE assignments.

I just verified they do work correctly for Windows installs. Where in Writer,
make a list as individual paragraphs, then select just one...

++ does move the item up, ++ moves the item
down the list.

Paragraphs with line breaks, and wrapped multiline paragraphs also move when
selected. As do multiple selected paragraphs. So is all is correct in LO.

(In reply to Jean-François Fortin Tam from comment #0)

> I can't think of something wrong with the previous shortcuts (ctrl+up/down)
> so I would suggest putting those back in place?

As to changing the keyboard shortcut--IMHO the "three" key assignment to be
appropriate--as a two key +/ or +/ while
available, would cause inadvertent movement of selected text/paragraphs set
with +/ block selection.

Better to retain the positive control of a "three" key combo.

=-=-=

The ++/ movement of selection has been that way forever.

I've added a musty old issue from OOo days --April 2007-- to the see also,
dealt with the +/ selection and affect on style of the
selected paragrapah when moving with ++/ -- one of yours
Cor :-)

=-=-=

As an aside, I don't believe there is a keyboard accelerator or UNO keyboard
action to call the Sort dialog, to apply to a list of single entry paragraphs
as selected, but I don't think that is the issue being discussed.

Navigation within the Sidebar Deck is pretty consistent with keyboard already
,+ to move within each Content panel on the Deck. And then
/ to go forward or / to go backward between the content
panels and the tab bar elements.

, and their will cycle between the Main menu, the toolbars,
the Sidebar and the document canvas.

Those keyboard navigations have not changed and are pretty stable--also how we
support a11y Assistive technology.

The defined global shortcuts would be in addition to these existing keyboard
navigation resources. But because they'd be targeted across the UI--they would
be *direct* than the cyclic shortcuts. Benefiting all keyboard users.

as Adolfo correctly pointed out we already have the "File/Recent
Documents/Clear List" menu item.

however I agree with Valter that this option should be "more visible" in the
Start Center itself rather that in that file menu only

I see two potential solutions:

1- put a black triangle on the right of the "Recent Files" button that opens a
dropdown menu with the same items you have in the menu, including "Clear List"

2- allow right clicking in the empty space of the thumbnails panel to show a
"Clear List" menu item

my preferred solution would be number 1.

I often find myself in the situation of clearing the list and it would be much
more intuitive and user friendly to do that from a Recent Files dropdown menu
or from a right click menu rather than in the File menu.

I agree with Adolfo that a confirmation of the clear list is unnecessary and
would probably be only irritating

I set status to NEW and put this on "ux-advise"

I also edit the summary notes...the current "File deletion in the Start Center"
which is too generic and incorrect (we are not deleting files, but just
clearing their thumbs from the list) and I think a better description would be:
"Start Center: Clear List item should more accessible"

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 95402] TEMPLATE MANAGER: Improve Save as Template workflow

> Also, and the most important, add a "Save as new template" icon to the list

Not sure why we would need that icon in the list, as the dialog is to set which
folder it should be placed in. This is no different than the 'Save As' dialog,
where you select the folder you want to place it in and set the name you want
to use.

This enhancement goes well with my proposal to redesign the template manager -
