https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114709 --- Comment #4 from Ulrich Windl--- (In reply to Buovjaga from comment #2) [...] > It is true that the font size and line length is bad right now and we should > tweak it to result in a maximum of 85 characters per line. Depending on the line spacing (and the font being used), 85 characters could be too much already (Knuth recommends something like 66 characters per line). My preference absolutely is: 1) A reasonable window size, meaning NOT too wide, because your eyes get lost while reading such long lines. 2) A reasonable default font size (with at most 72 characters per line) 3) Flowed text so that a resized window rearranges the text being displayed So the most terrible solution would be a very wide window with tiny font and scrollbars for both dimensions (the current example almost has it all). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114709 --- Comment #2 from Buovjaga--- I guess the font size comes from the old font size used in the help viewer. I made the design decision to center the content area with wide screens. It is not against reasonable design rules. To make it look better, we could have the header and footer be 100%, like in here: https://readthedocs.org/ See how the content in that one is centered as well (and context is documentation)? If you have another idea, such as aligning everything to the left like here: https://docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ please express it. [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 114467] EDITING: Allow repeating of the caption if the object is bigger than 1 page
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114467 Heiko Tietzechanged: What|Removed |Added Keywords|needsUXEval |needsDevEval Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW CC|libreoffice-ux-advise@lists | |.freedesktop.org| Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #3 from Heiko Tietze --- Guess many users faced the issue of missing caption continuation for a table spawning over multiple pages. At least it's a frequently discussed topic. A suggested workaround is to have the cross-reference to the caption in the first row with the addition of 'continued' and repeat at least this first row (table properties > text flow > repeat heading). The only dirty solution is how to hide the top-most row on the first page. Devs could introduce a function for '[ ] Repeat caption' that inserts a special row, which is hidden on the first page and automatically taken into to repetition thing (repeat header shouldn't get mixed, so 1 row is one row - plus the caption). More difficult is how to bring 'continued' into the reference since English may work with the addition on the end but other languages not that well. At least some edit field like '[ ] Repeat caption using [(continued)]' would be necessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

Very gnomish, plain and clean with no bells or whistles :-).
