something as 'protect' between quotes, and explanation in the Help, as is done

I have no problems with the new design off the online help.
The font size may be a bit bigger but nice work Bouvjaga.

Depending on the line spacing (and the font being used), 85 characters could be
too much already (Knuth recommends something like 66 characters per line).
My preference absolutely is:
1) A reasonable window size, meaning NOT too wide, because your eyes get lost
while reading such long lines.
2) A reasonable default font size (with at most 72 characters per line)
3) Flowed text so that a resized window rearranges the text being displayed

So the most terrible solution would be a very wide window with tiny font and
scrollbars for both dimensions (the current example almost has it all).

Recommended reading if you don't see the obvious after having read my
complaints could be "Digital Typography" by Donald E. Knuth, just for example.
Another title would be "Mut zur Typographie" by Jürgen Gulbins (German,
obviously). Or try "Screen Design Manual" by Frank Thissen (ISBN
978-3-540-43923-3).

I guess the font size comes from the old font size used in the help viewer.

I made the design decision to center the content area with wide screens. It is
not against reasonable design rules. To make it look better, we could have the
header and footer be 100%, like in here: https://readthedocs.org/ See how the
content in that one is centered as well (and context is documentation)?

If you have another idea, such as aligning everything to the left like here:
https://docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ please express it.

It is true that the font size and line length is bad right now and we should
tweak it to result in a maximum of 85 characters per line.

Thumbs relate to the paragraph and not the page settings. So the only solution
to the "missing" controls in the second column is to add them there but disable
until the cursor focuses a paragraph in this column. Makes no sense to me
however and the reason for this ticket is IMHO a misunderstanding that would be
better solved by tooltips on the thumbs.

LibreOffice' goal is to manage as many file formats as possible. That is
basically meant for office documents but being able to deal with various
graphic formats is not prejudicial.

On the other hand, haven't heard about FLIF and users can always convert alien
image formats with one of the plethora of image tools. Wouldn't put special
effort in the implementation.

Colors 3 and 15 look very similar. I think having as many differently looking
colors as possible is a good idea. It seems that colors repeat too early.

No scrollbar in the color picker, please! That would be inefficient for the
user.

In general I think the number of colors in a palette is less important than the
time the user needs to select the color he/she wants. Di you consider the
interesting approach Scribus uses (Create a small set of "logical colors")? See

No, that was bug #89676 which turned out to just request localized names and in
that sense, a duplicate of bug #114088 which is indeed fixed for 6.0.

Localized template content is a completely different beast, I can't tackle it
yet.

IIRC, Andras once said these were removed because they raised the installer
size considerably.

Guess many users faced the issue of missing caption continuation for a table
spawning over multiple pages. At least it's a frequently discussed topic.

A suggested workaround is to have the cross-reference to the caption in the
first row with the addition of 'continued' and repeat at least this first row
(table properties > text flow > repeat heading). The only dirty solution is how
to hide the top-most row on the first page.

Devs could introduce a function for '[ ] Repeat caption' that inserts a special
row, which is hidden on the first page and automatically taken into to
repetition thing (repeat header shouldn't get mixed, so 1 row is one row - plus
the caption). More difficult is how to bring 'continued' into the reference
since English may work with the addition on the end but other languages not
that well. At least some edit field like '[ ] Repeat caption using
[(continued)]' would be necessary.

Very gnomish, plain and clean with no bells or whistles :-).

The profiles navigation takes too much attention for my taste, and if this
GtkStackSwitcher is a good control for navigation is also questionable (we
introduced it in the new all-in-one area dialog for color, gradient, hatching
etc.). Nevertheless I guess all users will find the right setting with your
