[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 127294] Making tips of the day specific to the kind of document created
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127294 --- Comment #2 from mirko.piero...@studenti.polito.it --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1) > To my understanding a tip of the day is unspecific and more fun than help. > So I wouldn't make it more complex. But open for other opinions. I partly agree on that, but I believe it might be kind of distracting to see tips that are somewhat far from how one intends to use the software when they need it. At least, that's true for me and this is of course my very personal opinion. Then, if one has time and is curious about knowing more about the goodies LibreOffice has to offer, it's definitely worth to provide the opportunity to do so, but might there be a better place for that, perhaps? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 93111] Feature Request: Custom Style Group
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93111 --- Comment #5 from vistama...@web.de --- I answer your questions below their text - Done only by context menu at style sidebar items like 'Hide'? = Somehow the same. But a huge difference in comfort. It is quite different, to click 10 formats as "show" instead of 155 as "hide". I prefer 10 clicks instead of "155" - Done with a new UI as suggested in bug 127243 with checkbox-like multiselection? (An older discussion about custom font list comes into my mind) = Yes, this would be a way, but there can be some ways to make it work - Custom styles group in flat and/or hierarchical view? = flat! It is the idea, that we have a SHORT version of view. - How useful is this as the setting is saved in the user profile but not in the file itself? = This is very useful! If I write a new document, many styles I love are not added. If I use "used formats" some of my favorites are missing, because I just start with the first line. At the moment I have an additional last chapter in my documents, just to save the formats and use "user formats" as view. What an ugly solution! Instead it would be great to have a button "save all formats of this document to document-view 'myFavorStyles'. When I make a new document a very compact format view expects me by this very name 'myFavorStyles'. - What will be shown if the user is opening another file without such custom styles group? And what when after that opening or going back to the file where it exists? = I make a screenshot and try to make an image of my imaginations in a second posting. Cross fingers, the upload work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 127279] Register-true with better labelling
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127279 --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote --- Obviously we do not implement a vertical grid typesetting framework on which objects can be aligned. Rather, we describe a "Reference" paragraph style--font and leading--that establishes a text line height. And effectively sets text "baselines" as vertically filled from top down and applied within margins of a page style. Multiple paragraphs on multiple pages will be aligned to that baseline when those paragraphs (selectively) are 'Register true' enabled. And beleive different page styles (each with a "Reference style" and corresponding line height/baselines) can be defined (pre-defined in template) for use in complex documents. This is a different approach to that of InDesign or even Scribus. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

No sweat :) I appreciate the time! And yes I understand what you mean, It's just we already have the whole baseline deal/feature we even have it in a quite smart way using a paragraph style as a reference (register-true [Page style: Page]). So it would be really cool to be able to see it visually plus it would work as a visual cue for when a new user is starting to work on a previously made document or when he is working with another friend that sent him the file (with the Register-true activated). What I was thinking was that, upon pressing that menu item, horizontal lines would appear (the Baseline Grid from the referenced paragraph style that was chosen in the page properties).
