Units are everywhere given in absolute values unless you set relative, for
example there are many requests around font size in percent. My preferred
solution is a per-control switch (linked across similar controls in this case)
as discussed in bug 72662.

Back to the topic: with percent by default we cannot switch back to absolute
values. And many use cases require this. So my take is WF.

I can't confirm it with

Version: 6.3.3.1 (x64)
Build ID: f41f4c7f9507aeca13cb9df51f34d80e8ba30a99
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: threaded

and also not with

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha1 (x64)
Build ID: cc57df8f942f239d29cb575ea5a7cb01405db787
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Columns always shows absolute units (I treid with every setting in alignment)

Please make sure
a) that you use the latest version of of LibreOffice from
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
b) Make sure, that the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user
profile. Please reset your
 Libreoffice profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version and with a
fresh user profile. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
